This past weekend our Propane Furnace fired and ran through one cycle, then the next time it tried to cycle on, it stopped. I reset the power and it tried to start, but shur down again. Is there anything that I can check or am I better off to take it somewhere?

Has anyone had any luck getting their local heating oil/gas supplier to fix these or do I have to take it to a dealer, none of which I really trust in the area!

Thanks!

Do you know for sure that your propane tank is not empty?

If you were running off of battery power, did the battery have a good charge?:)

Hi!
Sorry! Lost my connection for a while!

Propane- Yes, freshly filled tank and stove works fine.

Battery charged- yes, although we had electricity this time! A very rare occurance for us! Which reminds me, I didn't try unplugging the 120v power and trying it directly from the batttery. Seems I've had off and on trouble with the 12v side of things when connected to shore power! Even though the lights worked, I'll have to pop up and check that out.

Local oil company won't touch it so it's a matter of towing it 50 miles to an RV dealer or taking a chance that THIS New England summer is going to be a LOT warmer than LAST, and going without it!

I think I will still pop it up, pull the front panel and try it on 12V battery only while watching through the observation window. It seems to me that from listening to it last weekend, it was cycling, then the electrode wasn't firing and it would shut down until it reset and/or power was shut off and turned back on.

Next camper I'll go with a WOOD furnace!!!

Update!
Okay, just as I suspected (after a few margaritas and/or glasses of wine) the furnace comes on and lights when running off the 12V sid of things with NO shore line plugged in.
I'm going to try plugging it in tomorrow and see if it works or not, and then go from there!
ASSUMING it doesn't work (again) when plugged into shore power, any ideas what to check? As I said, the fan came on last weekend, it just didn't light. Probably not a big deal as that will be the only trip with hookups this year, but I'd like to fix it just the same.
