I recently purchased a Polypropylene cover from ADCO for my 1999 coleman Santa Fe. I have heard both positive and negatives on using these covers because it could impede airflow and could cause issues with the ABS roof. Is this true? Do I have anything to worry about? Suggestions?  Thank you.

Cheryl

We used a Breathable cover on our 1995 Coleman Cape Cod for 8 years and never had a problem. It kept the camper clean and safe from the elements during long term storage. We never covered up the camper when it was wet and from srping to fall did not use the cover. Never had a problem with the roof or any problems with the interior. Just talked to the pop up's new owners on Saturday, they've had it for one full year now, and they say the camper is still like new and they've already camped in it twice this season.
Just my $.02 worth,

Since the Santa Fe has the ABS roof, then you should pay attention to what the manual says about this.

"DO NOT cover trailer "A.B.S" top assembly with a tarp. Lack of air circulation within a closed trailer can lead to excessive condensation build-up and mildew. Bubbling, blistering, etc. can also occur to "A.B.S." tops due to extreme heat build-up under the tarp." (p. 42)

When I purchased my Cheyenne, new, the dealer made a point during our training session of making sure I understood this. I have since heard about "breathable" tarps and have heard of people using them on their trailers. Maybe it's OK, maybe it's not. I'm not going to experiment with my trailer to find out.

My RV parking spot used to be under a tree that leaked a lot of sap. I covered the trailer with a 10 x 14 reflective tarp. I raised the tarp with a few milk crates and the bike rack and held it down with bungies. This combo allowed the tarp to be a foot above the deck. It allowed for air flow and water run off.

I also recently purchesed a Polypropylene cover for my camper.  The cover is not waterproof and will allow fine dust through.  I bought it mainly to protect the camper from sap, birds and tree limbs, since I must store it under trees.
