I need to replace my fold up bag awning poles that were bent during a very unexpected rainstorm this past week. It is a Starcraft model 1224.
Not sure what to do. I am not sure ofthe brand but it is a 1996 model.

Give Starcraft a call (the factory) and ask for their parts dept. - they will be able to tell you for sure what you need to know. If you happen to be further than 50 miles from a dealer you can then order direct from the factory. If not, you can get all the part numbers and then order through your local dealer (the pricing is the same).

Good luck - our "new to us" '04 was missing poles for the awning.  To replace them would have cost $102.84 each through our dealer.  The awning is a  Trimline model, which I understand is fairly common among pu's.  We opted to try some generic poles we already had hoping they will work.  We have yet to try this, as our last two trips we didn't use the awning.  If we have to spend $200+ ~ it will be on a completely new awning.

Cyclone - there's got to be something seriously amiss with awning poles costing over $100.00! Why don't you give Starcraft a call - tell them your over 50 miles from a dealer, get the part numbers and see what the factory quotes. For that kind of money I'd be looking at a new awning, too!

I replaced some poles on my Starcraft Venture awning. Each pole is a three part telescoping unit; the larger being attached to the awning bar, with the next two smaller parts fiting inside each other - you do a twisting action to lock each section into place at whatever height is necessary. I replaced the bottom two sections on each pole which sold for something like $7.00 apiece, meaning the total cost was close to $30.00 (four sections). Now this was dealing directly with Starcraft.
