I remember something about this once before but I can't seem to find any posts on it now... or at least the post I am looking for.  When my Coleman was new I noticed that the roof brace had worked it's way to one side of the camper.  I took the PU in for warranty work and they redjusted the brace.  Now two years later the brace has shifted again.  How difficult is it to move the brace back to center?  How do you move it?  The end of the brace seems to be very close to the wall portion of the roof. I read that some had place a screw into one end of the brace to hold it in place which still allows the other end to float.  I'm thinking about doing that too, any problems with that "fix"??  Thanks!

Mine moved too. I cut a 2X4 and put a square of plywood (a foot probably) against the rood, and a jack on the other end of the 2X4. I jacked up the roof, to take a little pressure off, and loosened the nuts on the brackets. Then I moved the brace over and drilled one single hole thru the bracket and the brace, one end only. Now you can either put a screw in the hole, or I put a 3/16 pop rivet in it. That was 4 years ago, and it hasn't moved. But pinning one end, still allows it to float, and it looks much better.

My dealer moved my roof brace over (under warranty) and I suggested they put a screw in the one side and it worked fine, until my roof went bad.:(

MtnCamper - where did you place the roof support to take some of the load off the brace?  Did you jack it up in the center of the roof or near one of the supports for the roof brace?  How much did you "lift" the roof with the jack support?  Where you able to just pull the roof brace and center it by hand then?
Thanks!

I used the square piece and carpet to protect the roof. Didn't want to chance punching the 2X4 thru it. i put the lift in the center of the roof, just to help with the pressure contained by the brace. I did need a helper to hold the 2X4 also. Jacked it up a little, and unscrewed the nuts. Shifted it and put the nuts back on and tightened it up. Then drilled the hole. I really didn't know how much force was contained by the brace, and didn't want to chance it. It worked good.
