Hello all, just finished intalling a great little easy to make storage tube for our Awning mat. What I did was to get a 6" diameter pvc pipe (sewage pipe) and cut it down a 6.5 foot length. I couldn't find end caps for that size pipe, so I used aluminum pie plates to cover the ends. I notched out 2-u shaped notches in both ends and to 3/4" round holes below those notches. Stick the carpet in the tube (ours is 6 feet by 9 feet outdoor carpet) and cover with pie plates. Then use bungie cords from one round hole - through the 2 notches and around to the other round hole - and walla! one end is done.
I tie-wrapped and bungied the tube across the back bumper of my trailer. Worked great!!! You could drill some small holes in the tube for ventilation if you wanted as well.:eyecrazy:

Stevo, welcome to the site! Where did you mount the PVC?

I simply roll up the mat and bungee cord it to the back bumper with two bungee cords.  It's cheap and it allows the mat to breath on the way home.  If it's raining it will even clean the mat too.

I just tie-wrapped it to the back bumper mounts with heavy duty electrical wraps.
