Chez Way

Quote from: BootheBunchOh...I love the free concerts...especially that one! And, since the Flinders will do eggs, we'll do something else...maybe fruit. :-)

Yah...I already told Brandon I may come home to cook the dinner for the potluck...it has to bake in the oven for an hour. It will be sooo hot in that tent trailer! Yikes! Brandon was thinking of trying to bring our little cheap kiddie pool to fill up...just so the kids could cool off a little bit....

I'm thinking triple digit temperatures have to be better than the hurricane warnings that we had when we werre camping at Newport Dunes in February...right?  Well I guess it is going to be a party in the trailer with the generator and a/c or the BootheBuch kiddie pool!

I had the bright Idea that we would try to get reservations for this little party...so I made them yesterday and we are in 63 which the gril said wasn't that far from the group....I figured that we could deal with out all the stuff we usually have..like a.c. and lights, water and stuff...but I didn't think of David and his Cpap machine that he needs at night to breathe ...that needs electricity to run...has anyone ever delt with this before?.   We are going to look for an inverter to run off the battery.  Its the pits getting old.

Hi all...

I've checked the weather for this weekend, and I think it's really off. It says that it's only going to be in the high 80's to low 90's (which is absolutely perfect for me) but it also said that this has been the weather ALL week.

Well, I'm telling ya right now that this is NOT true. Yesterday topped 106 here. AND they're threatening me with a thunderstorm on Saturday.

So, I'm hoping I can go by the weather online, which will be perfect for us...but since I live here and have been hiding out inside the air conditioner all week I'm afraid to believe them.

Anyway, just a heads up...so everyone still plans on blow up pools, water balloons, squirt guns and the like. I just wanted everyone to know that even if you look up the perfect weather online, I'm not so sure you can believe it.

Oooo Dee, I sure hope that Kara's mouth is doing better soon. Poor baby. I hope that Kevin is felling better too...maybe his headaches and stomaches is just the heat and not enough water drinking going on??

Anyway...I have bad news everyone...

We will NOT be able to come camping with you at O'Neill this weekend. I am having a business crisis that is going to take me from today, through the weekend and even into next week to sort out.

I'm sorry...we will try and pull away to at least come by for a visit, but I can't promise anything.

I hope you all have fun.

I'm going to call right now to cancel site 19...so if one of you who are further away wants to switch you should be able to shortly.

If we don't see you guys this weekend for a quick visit then we'll see you at Temecula in October.

Miss you
Kerry

Kerry--sorry you and your three bpoys won't be able to make it!  I hope the work emergency works out for you--I know your client is in good hands!

Dee--I feel for you, my sistuh!  Top of my "ugh" list are those indescribable aches: earache, toothache, headache and stomach ache!  I hope the dentist gets everything sorted out for Kara and that Kevin feels better tonight.

Everyone else--drink lots of water, stay out of the heat, and don't get sick!! Looking forward to see everyone who's still coming tomorrow!

mrflinders

Even though we wont be camping with you, we'll still try to come by and harrass you sometime during the weekend.

If we can't make it ALL THE WAY down to the campground, we'll at least pelt you with some water ballons from our front yard.....

Kevin is feeling better...Kara is on antibiotics :banghead:  her babytooth is dead it suffered to much trauma from the first dentist not wanting to "fill" a baby tooth and not dealing with the decay and having it fixed, the filling fall out and fixed again. sooo next week she has to have a poly something or other basically its a root canal for a baby tooth and they will remove a the dead gunk thats leeching out. or I can not have it done and put her on antibiotics everytime it abcesses until the perment one comes in ...I'd say in 5 or six years from now. this dentist is very good and he's done all her fillings w/ a water laser and  w/o novicaine we finally got a handle on the fear of the dentist so I hope he is as successful with this...

I'm sooooo not ready for this trip...meaning the TT isn't packed at all I work tonight...at least its an easy short trip

Glad Kevin is better, but poor Kara!!!  I hope the dentist is able to fix it easily and pain-free.  Oh, my heart just goes out to your baby.  I have a definite phobia of dentists, but I found a good one back in the early 80s and I drive all the way to San Clemente to go to him.  My mom paid a lot for my teeth in high school and she'd still kill me if I didn't take care of them!

Update on our Saturday evening potluck contributions:

I may or may not make the "Italian" bread, but Carl is thinking of making a cheesy garlic bread, so carbs are still covered. :) Instead, I'll make a capresi salad (tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella and basil, drizzled with EVOO and salt and pepper). I will still make dessert, probably the apple spice cobbler. I'm just not feeling like making anything that takes too many ingredients.

I will try and see if we can switch with Flinders site.  Thanks for the calls Dee but I didn't have your phone# to call you back and my Cell phone died last weekend when I lost it in the waterfall at Cuyamaca park.  We buy a TT with all the the stuff we could possibly need and we aren't using most of it this weekend.  I'm getting very used to A.C.  Also thanks Kim for the e-mail .  I hope no one has taken that site yet or else we are in site 67.  We will be bringing Tyler-4 and our nephew Christian -11.  Heather and Bryan can't make it because Healther's back is really bad.

For the Sat night we will bring stuffed ravioli (SP?) and for Breakfast I will bring scrambled eggs with cheese and ham...it that is O.K.  I hope it won't get too hot. I am bring a pool and squirt guns...for the kids.  What will they do without a tv and dvd player?

We will be getting there sometime in the afternoon.  I hope we can get out of dodge before the Friday traffic hits..This is only the second weekend we have used our new TT and I am kind of nervous about the battery stuff...Hope our batteries hold, we purchased a brand new one just  in case...

you should be fine on battery if you TV doesn'y have the center pin connected to recharge the battery as you drive, mine does so we can just plug it in let my car idle for awhile and it'll charge it back up.. I can't wait to see your new TT should be there around 3-ish

I'm pooped...getting old. a first in SCCamper history may happen tonight...I will be in bed BEFORE everyone else...
