Anyone have a favorite campground on the Washington Olympic Peninsula coast that they might recommend. We will be visiting Olympic NP and would love to camp somewhere on the water since we are midwesterners who rarely have ever seen an ocean or a strait, much less camped on one. In addition, if we could find one with electrical hookups it would be all the better. Thanks for any and all suggestions!

I think there are few replies to this because there just aren't many cg's on the coast in the Olympic park itself.  Much too cold and windy right on the coast, There are nice ones on the road up to Hurricane Ridge but my favorite is the Hoh river cg in the Hoh river rainforest (150 plus inches of rain a year).  The nearest cg on the water that I know of is near Sequim (pronounced Squim) east of Port Angeles.  Check out the Washington State parks site for more info.

Klalock spelled wrong I'm sure but if you get a good spot you can watch the water through your window, you can make reservations.oh don't leave things outside cause there small raccoons that are watching your every move LOL

There is an excellent county-park campground adjacent to the Dungeness Spit and Dungeness Wildlife Refuge.  I don't believe you'll find this in the state-park listings.

Here is a link--

We have camped in this location a couple of times, and it is a wonderful place, especially if you have kids curious about marine environments.  You can walk all the way out to the end of the Dungeness Spit, if you want.  The campground is quite nice, also--and the Sequim location is convenient to a lot of other attractions (Fort Worden, Olympic NP, etc.)

...and, yes--there are plenty of RV hookups in the place, so you don't have to go without Reddy Kilowatt.
