Due to an ongoing budget crisis (i.e. a power struggle among politicians), it now appears likely that state parks (and many other non-essential government operations) will shut down on Thursday, June 30, 2005 at 4 PM.

If you were planning on camping in a Minnesota SP (or a state forest campground) over the 4th of July, you need to read this: MN State Park Shutdown Info  If you have reservations, a full refund is available.

They are still hoping to put a last minute deal together to keep the parks open.

Parks may be kept open

PLJ is right - a last minute reprieve for STATE PARKS has been passed and signed.

All but three of the state's rest areas will be closed (along with the rest of the state government), however.

Larry how did you miss Auston the other day?  You must not be checking the board properly. ;)  Auston has posted several time now.  Oh, and by the way, your reaction to seeing him back was the same as mine.:D

I'll admit I haven't been on the boards as much lately. I am trying to spend less time on the computer, and more time with DW. We are also getting ready for a yard sale tomorrow, so I've had some garage time too.

Great to have Austin back.
