So how long have you been pop-up camping?

OC Campers

We have owned our Westlake since April 2001 but when I was a child my parents owned a 1973 Apache popup that we camped in for many years.

We have been PU camping since 1996.  :)

I'm like you Jacqui.  When I  was a kid, my mom had a '70 or '72 Starcraft pop up (with a wardrobe that you had to stand up and lock into place!) that I loved to go camping in.  Dave and I have had our Sun Valley since April 2002. :)

Not sure but it's been awhile for me...My DH and I have owned ours for two years...however, my ex and I (the practice marriage  ;>) owned one for a couple of years and as a child we camped for several years in a Coleman PU.

Cheryl and I  started Pop-Up camping in 1991?  The memory isn't that good.

I do remember that we had a '76 Valley Forge (Coleman). We were the 3rd owner. It still had the plastic covers on the foam mattresses.
We used that trailer 'till '96 when we bought the CAPE COD (Fleetwood/Coleman)

We bought our ROO hybrid (Rockwood)  last spring as a 25th anniversary gift to ourselves.

Happy Camping.

I've had my current pop-up since this past march and just before that I had a small motorhome for 4 yrs. Prior to the MH I had been pop-up camping for 4 years. I came back to the pop-up because it offers me more versatility, I can go camping with tenters and still feel like I fit in with the big rig campers. I also like being able to leave the CG if I need supplies, campground stores are usually very expensive :#

We camped once in a tent 38 yrs. ago and that was enough of TENTS! In 1997 we bought a used '85 Coleman Sun Valley that had been through 3 families but in great shape. In March '99 we bought a new Coleman/Fleetwood Nevada. Have enjoyed it but only have approximately 2,200 miles on it most of which has been local in central to south MS/AL. Currenly "shopping" the High Wall PU's vs. hybrids.

Neat poll Austin:

I've tent camped for at least 35 years, introduced the DW to camping on our honeymoon 14 years ago and she took to it like a duck to water.  Health and age have helped us decide on a Niagara the beginning of 2006.

We camped in a pu during my teen/college years; then I stopped camping altogether for about 10 years before buying a tent.  This is year #2 in the pu and I love it!  (of course, I hung around here at PUT as a wanna-be for about 3 years before getting the pu).

I think mom and dad bought our first popup when I was about 4 or 5 years old. So, I guess I've been popping up (pop-upping) for about 28 years.

We've had our current Jayco since Feb of 2002, but had another for 15 years prior to that. It was a Venture. It needed a lot of work and we gave it away.

Started PU camping in 1990, and our first PU was a 78' Palomino. Used the Pal for over twelve years, and gave it to my DD and SIL when we got the 2001 Coleman Mesa.

Hoppette and I tent camped for over twenty years before our first PU.  :!

I first went camping in rented 1964 on a Apache Tent Camper,   with my father and four brothers.  After that we tent camped.    I started the take my family,  wife and three small girls tent camping for ten years,  until Aug.  2000.  That's when I had enough with the tenting thing.  We got caught in a down pour on Cape Cod and I was up all night attempting to keep the water from running in side the tent,  where all the ladies were slepping.  Within two weeks we had our first PU 1994 Coleman Sequoia..  We now have a 2002 Coleman Bayside..

My father bought a Starcraft Sunliner new in 1967, then gave it to me when I graduated from high school.  I sold it in 1997 (after lots of good times with two DS's), and tent camped for two years. At that point DW decided she didn't like being on the ground, so we bought the Dutchmen in Spring of 2000.

So I guess that the better part of 38 years.  Man time flies when you are having fun.
