Happy 4th to ALL

Last week I re-installed my water after removing the entire storage compartment to repair it.  (see thread:  Re-assembly, Coleman 2002 Bayside Leaking Storage Compartment)  I finally had time test the water heater,   the pilot lights, ignites the burner and the burner go out after a few minutes.  I have good fuel flow becahse the pilot is still lit.  It won

I'm going to ask what might sound like a stupid question, but it happens in a lot of cases..... is there water in the tank? In some cases, the baypass valve is closed, not allowing water into the tank.

Air heats up quicker than water, and the thermostat may sense that it has reached the proper temp.

Your description appears to show proper operation of the heater, with the exception that the main burner is shutting down prematurly. But the pilot remains lit like it should.

It may also be a faulty thermostat..... or set it for a higher temp.

  Hope this helps.

Don't be too hard on yourself.

Anyone who can totally rebuild their front storage compartment, can't be all that bad.

As I mentioned, this happens quite often. Often enough that I generally ask this question first went people have similar problems with their water heaters.

Glad to hear it was an easy fix, and have a great trip next week.
