After a road trip with our pop-up, we deal with tar specs that show up on our camper, especially on the storage container and on the camper itself.  Is there a product that you recommend to remove the tar without a lot of rubbing? :U

WD-40? It's not that good at being a penatrant but it should clean off tar.

Hi camp2udrop:

I'll second aw738's recommendation on WD-40 but add a precaution as to what materials to use the stuff on.  It could weaken or dull some plastics.  Just do a spot and see.  The stuff is great getting gunk off chrome.

Just for fun check this out. http://www.wd40jobsite.com/

I always carry a can of mineral spirits along for tar removal. It works very well with a rag and will not dull any plastic or hard and gloss paint surfaces that I know of....I also use it to start a fire when the wood is damp... It starts very slowly and does not flare up suddenly like gasoline etc........
