I'm wondering how you get coordinates for places in the boonies that are "loosely" covered by zip codes.  For example, I'm going to the Half Dome/Yosemite trip in Aug. & want to know if there are any caches in the area.  The zip code for the camp covers a HUGE area, and it's hard to know what caches I should be looking at.  Is there a program out there that will give specific coordinates for an area out in the wilderness?  Thanks!

(I own a Garmin Vista, if that helps ...)

If you have an address like a campground or somthing that's central to your area you can find the coordinates to that location using the following website.

http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/convert?form=address

Once you have those coordinates you can go to //www.geocaching.com and find the nearest caches to those coordinates.

I use system whe we go camping.  I find out the coordinates of our campground then find the caches nearest to the campground.

You can also download GoogleEarth, then download the geocache browser from geocache.com. Mind that you will have to have High Speed connection for GoogleEarth to be of any use to you.
