Labor Day weekend

Malibu RV is no longer in the works.  We are now heading out to Newport Dunes for the long weekend with the Darksiders and FOD (Friends o' Darksiders).   There are still reservations available for this last official camping weekend of the summer (although a bit $$$).  We'll see you at the campfire or the movies on the beach!

we're suppose to go to the river  that weekend..may have problems with Sunday nite off so if we don't go we'll drive down and see you it takes us about 20-30 min.

I stickied this thread for you. Also, what are site fees costing for Labor Day weekend?  Dave has a trial on the 6th, but he said we possibly might be able to camp with you if it's not too expensive.  Worst case, we can still drive down and spend some time with you since it's so close to home for us.

We are paying $89 per night for 5th row, second section from the pool.  Come on down!  You, Dave, Griffin, Win (sp?) and your DO are always welcome for the weekend or just a day...whatever works for you guys.

Hi guys, looks like we'll be joining you. They got me for $130 a nite, 1st or 2nd section from the pool, with semi bay view on the 2nd row. This is the only getaway this summer for us. I'm not sure if we are solo or with kids? Just made reservations today. They said that they had no more spaces that will accomodate a 27 foot trailer( I'll bet they have cancellations daily). Are we there yet?

Countdown is now activated...Anyone who wants to join us for the weekend and/or a potluck dinner...come on down.  Theme for Saturday night is Mexican and for Sunday it is tri-tip (hey, I calls it as I sees it!).  Let me know if you will be joining us.   Should be a beautiful weekend in Newport Beach.

Hi again,...Are we there yet? Well, I've past the point of no return...I must arrive!. We are still coming, Just not sure of What's up with Bev's daughter, her new job responsibilities, and how this will affect Bev. As for me, I'll be there, Friday Morn early to set up, then off to work I go til the afternoon. Bev usually packs most of the food. Can you beleive this, but we havn't even talked about food for the weekend! I'll be at costco today for my regular purchases, I'll be picking up more stuff for the weekend too! See you Friday! Got to go to work now.

Well we had another memorable camping weekend.  Good food, good friends, plenty to drink and lots of R&R.  
 
Samantha and her new pal Cory started a candy stand and made $26, we enjoyed the bingo game at the club house and went to the dance on Sunday night.
 
We enjoyed an afternoon on Balboa Island where we shopped, had Balboa Bars and Frozen Bananas.
 
The weather at Newport Dunes was perfect!  Gregory had a blast at the water playground,
 
We had a lot of visitors join us so it was a very social weekend....my sister and her husband, Karen's old pal and his wife, the friends of darksiders brother and his girlfriend.  Sadie, Max and Darby (our dogs) all had a blast too.
 
Lori, I made your Monkey Bread and it was a big hit.  Thanks for the recipe.  I also made Moose's breakfast cornbread which is always popular.  Thanks, Moose!
 
Larry and Bev and Tara joined us for the Mexican pot luck night...yum!  Thanks, Larry for bringing the enchiladas and all the fixins'.  I'm glad you were able to take some time off from work.
 
Dee, you would have been proud...we had some pretty impressive campfires even though it was shorts weather.
 
All in all it was a wonderful Labor Day Weekend and a good way to wrap up the summer...school begins tomorrow.
 
I hope everyone else had a good weekend too!
