Hi everyone,  I got a question.  I want to do a couple of mods to our trailer (Fleetwood Colonial) and I'm kinda lost.  I want to install a car stereo and also a 12v socket for recharging our cell phones.  I'm skeered about trying to tap into any of the wiring cause I'm not sure what's what.  I know all the 110v stuff is using romex wiring but the other wiring I'm seeing is not all black and white like what's coming off the battery. Is there any way to know for sure?  Also there is a pigtail in the galley area that is just lying there calling my name...but there's a black, white and orange wires going to it?  Any help would be appreciated, as you can see I'm lost with electricity or should I say I don't want to @$% it up...hehehe.  Thanks

First of all, nice trailer.:D

Second, go to the fleetwood folding trailers site and chack their FAQ's. They tell you how to order the wiring diagram for your trailer.

Hope this helps.

If you don't have a furnace I'm betting that's the wiring for it. Very common to wire for everything as making up one loom is cheaper than stocking and fitting multiple ones for various accessories.

A D.C. Voltmeter is a MUST when working on the D.C. circuits in any trailer.
Most of the trailers I've seen use the black wire as POSITIVE (ala HOT in AC wiring) and the white wire as ground. (ala NEUTRAL in AC wiring)

That's why you should use a meter anyway; somebody else may have changed the color coding on you.

Also, some converters are not as well filtered as others, and could be a source of noise in your radio.

Best of luck.
