lopsided camper

I raised the camper and noticed the top leans to the back side (left or drivers side).  It seems to be stable except for the fact that the door does not fit well -especially at the top.   In a rain coming somewhat from the door side, we found a multitude of leaks.
I have never noticed leaks or the door mis-fit before (even in a heavy rain).
Is there an adjustment or way to straighten the camper lift poles?

A lot of times the roof will tilt towards the back of the PU if you are not properly leveled from side to side. The roof is "free-floating" so it will self-level itself. The box and floor on the other hand will match the level of the wheels.

Make sure that you are leveled in both the side to side, and front to back directions before making adjustments to the cable lift system. See if the door system works properly when leveled in both directions.

Your PU is not that old, and I would think that the lift system would be still within specification.

BTW, a good way to check if it's cable adjustment or a leveling problem is using a 6" torpedo level on all four lift arms. If the arms are straight (plumb), then the PU box is in proper level, and it's the roof that is actually tilting needing a tightning of the back side lift cables. You can verify this using a tape measurer and measuring the gap between the roof and the box lip difference between the front (door side) of the PU and the back wall of the PU. If the arms are not plumb, the box is not level. Place the level on both a front and one  side surface of each lift arm while checking. (plumb and squareness)

 Hope this helps.

I noticed on my viking that whenever I put my awning out my top tends to lean towards the awning side of the camper just enough to mess with the door allignment.  With the awning stowed, the door fits great.

Yep!  Just checked the vertical and it is off about 3 1/2 inches from bottom of lift poles to top.    The floor is almost on the money both directions.

I measure top of the bottom box to the edge of the top on both sides.  They were within 1/4 inch of each other.   I was told that the springs are tied together on the front and on the rear.  If it was an adjustment problem, it would show up with front bieng lower than rear or vice-versa.

My Starcraft leans a tad with the awning out, too, but does not seem to effect the door performance; what does make a difference is if the camper is not level from the get-go!

I was wondering, that if you knew you were going to put the awning out, if the wheel on the awning side would be raised a tad higher if that would make a difference?

What happens if you level the PU to make all four lifter poles plumb?

Does this make the roof distance in regards to the box equal?

I get the same thing with my 85 Palomino, the roof leans to the door side if I have the awning out, which causes the door to stick a little (thats with the side to side almost dead on level, as well as front to back.  I'm going to try "preloading" the street side so the door side is a teeny bit higher than the street side and see if that shifts the roof back a little.  It's almost like you wanna put a rope from the street side of the roof down to the ground to "counter pull" the awning.

Going on another trip in 2 weeks. I'll let ya know what happens.
