How to mod TV to charge camper battery

I would like to be able to charge my battery from my TV, what modifications would I have to make to my 2005 Chevy Silverado 1500 to accomplish this task.
My thoughts would be to add a larger alternator and add some kind of switch so when I needed to charge the camper battery the alternator would read the low voltage on that battery and charge it and still put out enough power for the TV.
Is this possible?
I imagine I could do this if I added a second alternator but that seems like to much work.
A generator would be nice but I don't want to buy one or haul it around for the few occasions I might use it.
Your help is greatly appreciated,

Bruce

I bought a cable that plugs into my TV's 12v outlet, then the other end plugs into the 2 prong wiring on the camper where the camper battery would normally plug into.  The battery in the TV then becomes the battery for the camper and can be recharged by starting the vehicle.  This allowed me to removed the battery from the camper and save some weight.

I am assuming your TV did not come pre-wired with a 7 way plug with the battery feed.  If it did and you still don't have power at your 7 way plug you may just need to add a relay under the hood to an existing plug.

As long as the battery on the trailer is charged, any your aren't running a lot of 12v appliances in your TV (tvs, dvd players, game consoles, etc) your current alternator should be large enough as is.  It will output voltage to the trailer battery just like it was a 12v plug inside the vehicle.

If you do decide to add a line, l recommend running it from your TV battery (with a fuse of course) to your trailer battery.  If you are concerned about killing your TV battery while you are stopped, add a relay that is triggered by your iginition.  That way when the TV is on, it activates the relay and supplies power to your trailer.  When the TV is off, the relay opens the circuit and does not allow your trailer to drain your TV battery.  Your fridge or any other 12v items on your trailer can run off the trailer battery, and when you start the TV again, the TV will top off your trailer battery.

Hope this helps
