Hope someone can help.  We have a 1985-1995 Rockwood pop-up camper that sleeps 6.  Don't have better info. right now.  It has a cable lift system.  Up until now, it has always lifted and lowered wonderfully.  The last time we used it, we went to close it up and the top came down to about 8 inches and just stopped!  Actually, the first attempt lowered the back all the way and the front just down to the last 8 inches.  We cinched it back up to the top and re-lowered it only to find that now all four "columns" lowered to just the last 8 inches.  It is as if suddenly there is an even stop at each "column".  We can not get the camper fully closed.  We have greased the cable and raised and lowered many times (I have very nice biceps now) :D But all to no avail, it is still just 8 inches short of closing up correctly!  Any suggestions?

Did you ever get any help with your lift problem?  I have 1985 Rockwood and can't get it to go down.  The crank has slipped and is now free-wheeling.  I just need to talk to someone who knows about these things.
