We went there this weekend for our first p/u trip. It was a very bad weekend for us, maybe not for all though. We have a 3 yr old and a 1 yr old. We stayed on the "North Shore" area and the water was not near us. To get to the water you had to walk over very large rocks/boulders, through desert type grasses etc. and it was not fun to do that with small children. Even when you got to the water it was not good fishing. I recommend this place if you are an avid fisherman(woman) and you have a boat or if you like to hunt. But to have good fishing, you need a boat, its no good from the shore, there are tons of boats and no bites by the shore. Like I said, we are new campers so we only have one other place to compare it with (other than when we were younger) and we now have small children so our needs are different.

But there was no shade in any of the sites, it was extremely windy, and the worst was the bathrooms were very very nasty, they smelled very bad and were hard to even go into.

We went in the middle of September, so the weather was nice. The campsites were no closer to the next than the other site we went to in August (other review of mine). It was nice to have a store near though to get the last minute things we forgot.

The terrain of our site was not great so it was hard to get a nice place to put our chairs etc around the fire in order to avoid the wind, we were up against a little tiny mountain of rock/dirt.

We did not use any hookups so I can't comment on this.

We will never go back to this place, it was just not a nice camping place for our family.

Sorry your stay wasn't pleasant. I can certainly understand!

Generally, when we stay at 11-mile, we stay at Rocky Ridge, loop A.
These are all electrical and close to the camper services building. It does have clean restrooms with showers ($.25), laundry etc. We like site 6, but 3, 7 & 8 are good as well.

Our camping buddies like it 'cause he likes to fish and paddle around in his canoe.
We went hiking last time and was able to appreciate it more.
Here's a couple of pics I took from there:

Hi Keith,
Do you happen to know which sites are right on water? We hear the fishing is great there and wanted to check it out, but would love to be right on water....thanks!

AND.....you take awesome pics :)

Thank you!

On the NE side are Nosh Loops C, D, E, all right on the water.
Barren, wind-swept but close to the shore.
I've tried fishing from the shore but my fishing skills are less than satisfactory :).
I'll stick to photography, nature hikes and practicing my BBQ skills!

On the SW side, pretty much all site oare on the water. Seems rather primitive over there. Check out the map here:
