Reconnecting city water connection

I've been lurking for a while, great site with lots of info.

I recently bought a Jayco Qwest 12A. The previous owner installed an electric pump, and left the city water pipe inside the popup disconnected - I discovered the hard way.

Anyway, I'm trying to figure out how to reconnect it again. Two questions:

1. would the plastic tubing used between the pump and the faucet (I'm guessing 1/2" clear flexible pipe) leading to the faucet be good for the water pressure? The current city water pipe seems to be a different type, a bit harder. I'm thinking of buying one of those 40-45 psi regulators, but is that enough?

2. the faucet does not have any kind of valve, just a switch you turn to turn on the pump - do I need to change the faucet or add a valve somewhere?

I would also appreciate if you can point to any diagrams from your owners manual or any website.

It sounds to me like you're going to need a different faucet.  I'm sure others will chime in here too, with more advice.  Our camper has both city water and an onboard tank with a pump.  We have a faucet with two handles.  If I remember correctly without looking, the left handle is for water from the tank and the right handle is city water.  Thus, both supplies are hooked up and available.  We have no hot water, so the faucet can be used this way.  Check the RV supply stores, you can do this online.  They should have an appropriate faucet.  Don't know what kind of mods you'd need to do to your sink to make it fit.  Hope this helps.
