Hey all!

Just thought I'd share our little trip we made today... We went up to the Catskill Game Farm http://www.catskillgamefarm.com/ near North Lake today. Spent most of the afternoon there, then ran up the mountain past Kaaterskill Falls. We passed North Lake road (and said good bye :( to North Lake for the season in case we can't make closing weekend) and then we went out to dinner at Selena's Diner... While eating, a lost dog came inside the diner and absoluetly refused to leave. They had to call the town dog catcher. Stephie gave them the idea to lure out the dog with some food and water - which of course worked. The dog was gone (after Stephie asked "if Sabrina would like a friend"), and five minutes later a really old guy crying came whizzing into the parking lot of the diner looking for his lost dog. They were reunited. :D After that, we went for a nice ride down 214 to 28. We hit 28 and headed up (down??) to my property... About a half mile from my road, we spotted a HUGE bear running at full speed down the side of the road. We slowed down to watch him and it was the coolest! We checked on the land, it seemed really dry, so I am going to call the county and see if we can get the septic perk test done now. We then headed south following the Ashokan Reservior and saw many, many deer, and a porcupine lumbering down the road. We watched him for a while too... I read in the local paper that the reservior was almost empty, and I have never seen it so low. I wish I had my camera. Speaking of the local paper and my land, not sure if you guys remember, but we came across some HUGE tracks during the initial land clearing back in Feb/March. (Check out my webshots link for pics of the tracks.)  I thought they were of an elk or something, but it turns out MOOSE have been in the area, and one was just hit and killed by an 18 wheeler next to Campers Barn a few days ago! Here's the link to the local paper:

Well that's about it - just wanted you guys to know I was thinking about you all today. This was the most fun I've had without the camper involved in a long time.

SheBantam

Rick and Steph, I was up your way yesterday.  Picked up my friend in Shoemakersville PA (2+ hours out of the way), caught I 81 and found I 84 around Scranton and followed that to the first Newburgh NY Exit then toured beautiful downtown Newburgh to find 9W to get to the Raccoon Saloon in Marlboro NY. There Linda (the lady that I went to Hamburg Heritage Festival with when we were at Locust Lake) and I met 3 other women for lunch...10 to 11 hour drive round trip...

The view was spectacular. The Raccoon Sallon has a huge picture window that looks out over the Hudson River and surrounding terrain.  We 5 were at a 6 top table, so of course we saved a spot for the main reason we were gathering there...but Viggo (aka Aragorn in the Lord of the Rings Trilogy), being in California, did not read the JV website and come join us for lunch...It would have been perfect...5 women ranging in age (with me being the youngest at) 49 to 71 all were either divorcees, widows, seperated or just plain left our husbands at home (Raymond got to spend Sunday re-bonding or should I say buying for Jeffrey, with Jeffrey).

This too was the most fun I had with this obsessed group of women, I have had without the camper in a long time (I have fun with everyone here but it is always with camper in tow, so there is a difference.).  Is it something in the water in NY?????
