40 Days

Hi all

Today marks our 40th day on the road and we are in Tampa, Florida.

It is about time to head north for the winter.  Off to Cape Caneveral on Monday, then Savannah, Charleston and back up to NH.

This has been a great trip so far with no major mishaps or disappointments but a differnt kind of trip than we took last year. I will do a longer report when we get back around 11/1.

Gas prices have been crazy and bouncing all over the place.  We payed a high of $3.49 in New York and a low of $2.55 in Michigan but that was in September.  Seems that we are averaging about $2.80 a gallon.  We budgeted about $1500 for this trip and are over $1100 so far with about 1600 more miles to go.  Georgia has some of the craziest prices, from $2.59 to $2.99 within a five mile range.


Anyways, it has been a great time and well worth all of the money spent on gas.

We have been a little concerned about all the rain up in NH but ds has kept an eye out on the house and other than a little water in the cellar, no major damage but there has been a fair amount of flooding in the local area.  Helps to have your house on a hill.

Glad you are haveing a great time!  I'd meet you along the road for a night, but we just put the Niagara in the shop for a few minor fixes.
