I'm looking forward to a blow by blow description. Glad it went well.

Welcome back Dee and DNA or should I say after the test DNO. Hope to hear a lot about the trip.

well lots of excitement last week: when I got home I noticed my charge wire was fried and around one of the 7 pin connectors was melted.   I thought the show thing would be off but Homerun Ent. graciously paid to have it fixed (almost $500!!) took it to a great place in Irvine. apparently when  the brake controller was installed the wires were too tight and were sitting tight  against (underneath) the battery holder and over time the wire kept rubbing, well when it wore thru, it shorted out and I actually was towing without a functional break away switch.  Tuesday drove it down to Irvine with Kevin sitting in the truck watching DVD's as when I came home from work Monday nite he had a fever over 101.  :%  p/u trailer wed (kevin still in tow) and met Gary "the RV Dr." to make sure everything will fit for project.  The crew shows up 8:30 Thurs morning.. I didn't realize how much work is involved in shooting a tv show. I had to hook up the trailer move it in the middle of the drive way. I must up set up , put back, set up and put back the trailer I don't know how many times. It was also interesting to shoot things outta sequence. we shot the ending of the battery project before we even started the project. I now have 2 6V golf cart batteries in series. lots of power!!!  sometimes it took a long time to shoot anything due to noise. either a plane, a car, a train...I had thought I lived in a quiet neighbohood.. :eyecrazy:  because the cameraman, sound person & production assistant all live in Escondido we filmed us leaving in the morning Thurs nite. so we changed clothes drove around the neighborhood a couple of times . then we had to make sure we put the same clothes on Friday morning as they were shooting stuff along the way. the producer showed up at the house at 8 am to follow us to Barstow where we met the rest of the crew. we were only 10 min late, not bad considering Kara work up with the Flu at 3 am.  :yikes:  but we went anyway..Kara was a trooper and slept most of the way. Now are you sitting down??? I went to bed Friday at 9 pm. :yikes: ..are you all still breathing??? after 4 days straight of 3 hrs of sleep and about 2 Thurs nite . I was pretty much toast, I went thru 3 red bulls and about 6 Mt. Dew's on the drive.
Sat. we were up at..are you still sitting?? 6:30 am.. :yikes: . we had to have the trailer packed up ready to pullout at 8 am sharp so we can film us "arriving" at the grand canyon.
did more filming at the campsite in the morning and went and looked at the Canyon in the afternoon..(Kara feeling better but not quite 100%).it was fun watching the looks on peoples face as we're being filmed and wondering "who are they" and "why are they being filmed"  we finished about 5 PM sat. then Sunday back at it at 8:30 for some more filming at the canyon and then back to the campsite for interviews. we were done about 2 pm on sunday and we went and did some exploring on our own. Sunday night the procducer came by and joined us at the campfire a bit and the crew came by to say goodbye. we decided we were going to take our time "no schedule" yesterday so we got up packed up and left Grand Canyon about 12:20 and we got home at 10 pm last night. even tho it was alot more work than  expected we'd do it again if we had the chance.  The whole crew was super nice and so was Gary.I learned some tips from him and I also got a signed copy of his book which has great info in it.

hopefully I'll get pics downloaded today.

WOW, sounds exciting. I've seen tv tapings and they go on forever. Sounds like you had a blast and need the week to rest up. Everyone healthy now?

Camping Coxes

Did you get in any plugs for PUT?  And when the crew came by to visit after filming was complete, you didn't invite them in for a rousing game of Apples to Apples?  I can't wait to see it (I'll have to check if we even get the channel now that we have DishTV :( .  I miss my DirecTV where everything made sense, but alas, I'm stuck for a few more months.

The views from the north rim rival those from the south rim and it's a prettier dive. The north rim closes in early October though. I prefer the north rim.
