The reason I'm asking is that ours is 7000 BTU's and my trailer is 24 ft. long when fully open. We got the PU in October when we didn't need to use the AC. What i want to know is will this unit keep us cool in the summer. Please give me some advise and let me know what size you Pu's are and how many BTU's your AC units are..........Thanks,.........Ed C.

P.S. what is the biggest AC unit i could put on our PU. :sombraro:

The defacto standard is 13.5K btu's. They also make 15K btu models.

From experience the 7K models will reduce temperature but make sure to park in the shade if the temp goes over 85.
Also bunk end covers like those from http://www.popupgizmos.com/ will also help any AC keep the temperature lower.

What Mike said, 13,500 btus are the standard.  With the cooling that is lost through the sides of the PU 7000 will not keep you cool if it is really hot.:)

Thanks for your imput, I called Johnnie Walkers RV today and complained about the AC unit on our PU, The general Manager told me it was a mistake, the AC unit they gave us is for the smaller PU's, and that we should bring our PU in and they will replace it with a 13500 BTU model that should have been on there in the first place. He's even going to give us a $25.00 gift certificate good at their  parts and supply store for the inconvience. Thats cool with me.......

With the heat you deal with I might suggests asking what it would cost to upgrade tot he 15,000 BTU.  In a large pop up it can make a difference.  We have the 15,000 and are glad we have it down here in Hotlanta....

Mine is about two feet wide and three feet long, and about "so" high! ;)

.....Yeah, what they said!  7000Btu will help a little bit, in the shade, on a cool day.
