Yep I'm a quiet one at times.  But AB's post made me think of a thing I would ask and not to put in in the "poll forum".

Back to the subject...What have fellow campers ever asked to borrow or even things you may have borrowed.

I'll start with an easy one, but there have been many others I could add.

SWINGAWAY CAN OPENER

We've been asked for a lighter or matches while we were at Flagg Ranch in Wyoming.  They were so grateful they offered for us to camp on their land any time we were in the Macon, Georgia area.  It's been 4-1/2 years, but the Taj MaHaul hasn't had the chance to make it down there yet.

I have borrowed:  a level, an awning pole, a can opener, a 50 ft. extension cord, and probably more that I'm not remembering.

Lent:  a space heater, a stepstool, one lynx leveler block

GeneF

I have lent a pair of vice grips.

Given firewoord and fire starters.

Borrowed an extension cord.

We borrowed a jack stand so the rear stabilizer had something the sit on on a VERY unlevel site in Hocking Hills.

Have lent out lanterns so late comers could see to get on the site, and have had the same done for us.

Last campout of this yr I gave the site next to us fire starter after watching them try to  start a fire for half an hr.

I had one 'firestarter' (Ok, lighter) which quit on me; I had to wander the CG asking for matches!

I've loaned bungee cords and a ground tarp -- the tarp came back! (bungees left before I awakened....)

I've "lent out" Chairs and campfire forks, without my knowledge.  Had some neighboring campers "borrow" our stuff after we called it a night.  We did have to retreive our gear from their site in the morning.

Over the years I cannot recall all the little incidentals that have been exchanged. About the time I think I've packed EVERYTHING, there will be a little "something" left out, so it's always been a two-way street!

But the thing that stands out in my mermory the most is back when I had a '96 Coleman/Fleetwood (Yukon) and a fellow camper who also had a recent model Coleman (although different from mine) and asked if he could borrow my trailer key as they had forgot theirs. Much to my amazement my keys fit their camper, too! And as they told me, and as I was to find out on these fourms, this is a very common thing. Also, for my present Starcraft, the key for the storage compartment door has fit some other simular storage compartment doors when I've been given an opportunity to try them.

What Fly said!

My favorite "what goes around, comes around" happened two seasons ago.  The first outing of the season I borrowed syrup.  The last outing of the same season I gave away syrup.  Good Karma, eh?

great thread idea, Brenda!

And it is nice and comfy too.:D

I did "borrow" a few beers a couple of times. Not sure if I returned them or not.......... guess I'll have to bring extras just in case.

I've lent myself out a couple of times, helped some other fellow campers set up for the first time.

Borrowed a crank to get the top up once.  Happened in Hershey.  Don't ask.  We now own 2 of those things.  That's how we got it down.

Fun thread!
