Coleman Newport owners anywhere?

I have for six years owned a jayco Jaycardinal. I liked it, but it was just too much to pull anymore, and as we're downsizing vehicles, a smaller camper was in our future.

So I've purchased a Coleman Newport. It will need a new canvas, which I will order in the spring, but the frame, bottom, pullouts, cabinets, etc. all appear to be in excellent condition. I towed it home today and like it very much already, from a towing standpoint. Like nothing there, compared to the Jaycardinal.

I'd like to talk to other people who own/have owned these and learn more about them. There is an issue with the top, it has gotten wet and will need some repair, and I'd like to know if anyone has ever done that, or knows how the Newport tops are constructed.  I'd also like to know if anyone still makes parts for these, as I need a spare tire bracket.

What year is the Newport?  Roof problems with some years are very bad news.

Coleman and Fleetwood have used the same name for different floor plans, models.  By posting the year and the type of roof you have, or describing the roof will help.

the roof is that hammered aluminum stuff, with radiuses fore and aft, left and right. The corners are plastic and screwed on. There is a seam down the middle. The plastic cover that fits into the aluminum extrusion that covers the seam is messed up, and i suspect water has gotten in.

I am away from home now but I believe the camper is a 1989 or a 1991. It looks exactly lke this one:
