Quote from: tlhdocWhat did you think of the campground? Would you go back again? What area do you think we should camp in?:)
We went there in Oct. and were right on the main drag so it was a little noisy, especially the people across the way watching the football game and yelling.  Plus the heated pool wasn't working so it was about under 60 degrees.  To chilly for us.  The bathrooms were clean and the sites were clean but close together.  My wife and I prefer more primitive sites so we didn't care for it that much but most people would probably like it alot.  The lake is beautiful and the staff was ok.  If you do go try to get a site near the back or away from the main road ( away from the lake ).  I know this kind of sounded pessimistic but in fairness with how I descibed it to my parents, they decided to book a site for next year.

That is exactly the type of information I want to know.  I haven't found a private campground yet that I would pick over the SPs and NP that we usually camp in, but for the comfort of others I am willing to camp there.  Thanks for letting us know about the road traffic.:)

Tracy - any word from Otter Lake??

I emailed them again yesterday and have not heard from them.  Maybe they have heard of us and don't want us to camp with them.:yikes:

I just called the campground, but did not make my reservation.  They recommended "H" loop.  It is on map "A" down near the bottom.  There are a mix of full hookup and sites without sewer in that section.  I was told we could use the pavilion by the bathhouse.  Sites 14 and 15 are the most popular sites in that area, but they are close to the road.  Does this look good to you guys or would you want to be in a different area?  Does anyone remember these sites from when you camped there?:)

dee106

if they have hook ups and we can all be together i'm in! tennis anyone? we are next to the courts!

  i'll take site h-09 its a full hook-up ! when should i call?

tlhdoc

I will take site 10 and be next to you.  Unless anyone sees a problem with the sites or the campground.  :)

dee106

its your party! and i would be honored to have you next door from me !

 i will call them tomorrow

tlhdoc

OK I made my reservations for site 10. I had to call 3 times, because the computer :compumad: was not working, but now it is.:)

dee106

got site H-9 ! see you there !!!!!:D

copcarguy

Hey all!

We'd like dibs on site H15 please... (if it's still available). Funny how we get teased for wanting full hookups, (or called "spoiled") and then they're taken already...  :p
I'll call them before work tomorrow and hopefully it'll be available!

tlhdoc

Rick if you want to be more in the back, I can move over one site to a partial hookup site.  Just reserve site 11 and tell them I will call to ok the switch.  Mention COTOC when you call.:)

copcarguy

OK - we're in on this one too!

We're on H-15.

Tracy thanks for the offer to move a spot, but you said H-15 was popular, so I went with your word.  :D

Boy, I go away for a couple days and look at all I missed. Luckily I saw this thread early this am so I called the cg from work to request a site in the H loop. I can't remember which site she gave me (either 11, 12 or 13 but I think she said H12). I asked for w/e - leaving 14 & 15 for those who need sewer. I will use the bathrooms that are there. They were clean when we visited. Something annoyed me about the showers but I can't remember what. Probably push button type or $ (don't have notes, sorry).

The woman asked how many were coming and I didn't know. I asked her to block off sites 9-15. I don't remember exactly what they are like but they seemed the better ones in that loop. Remember guys, these are not state park sites (size and privacy wise). Here's what I remember:

I THINK the lower numbered sites were smaller or next to the trash, etc. That's why I asked to block off 9-15. I seem to remember liking 9 & 10 because they were further back but they had travel trailers bunkered down on them at that time. Can't remember if I was on 12 or 13 - it was ok. I think they were all ok on that side, just not FANTASTIC.

You definitely do not want sites 1-3 unless you like being on a grassy open field site (remember Tracy that on the PUX trip someone DID want that type of open site). The sites directly in front of the tennis courts are really directly in front of the tennis courts - you might have balls land in your site. I thought they were small (shallow) but the woman on the phone said that 7 & 8 are big so she also blocked them off for us. So, bottom line is that COTOC has sites H7-H15 blocked off. Of course, you can request anywhere else if you prefer.

Di thanks for your help. For those of you that are planning on going make your reservations as soon as possible. I would also like to welcome dinbo72 to COTOC. Their family will be joining us on the April trip.:)
