I have to wait to book until after I get back from San Diego, I am going by my self and will be living a dream on Saturday in Santa Monica, so I will have to wait until Friday a week for the finances. I know you all can relate...I will take what is left...

Tracy is always right (and that is a fact, she has been dubbed "Camping Queen" by someone other than us).
Bring your sense of humor (I can take a little getting used to the rest of them are pretty "normal") and your camp stove
Know where the closest Walmart or Kmart is (for me).
Just relax and have a good time...

Is there any traditions that we should know about?

We usually have a pot luck dinner on Saturday night, but that will be planned a little closer to the trip.  Just come and have a good time camping.  PS Copcarguy/Rick is the fire master;) , so you can look for a good fire at his campsite.

Just saw the tent question. I don't remember the sites that well - it was a few years ago that we visited Otter Lake. I suggest calling the cg and asking specifics about those sites. When we were there, sites 1-3 were grassy field sites - no privacy at all.

I was so excited when I saw this trip come up. But then I remembered my son plays soccer in the spring. So I'll come up Saturday after his game. Only a two hour drive for one night, not bad. But they only take reservations for a two nght min. I guess I'll wait till that friday and call to see if they have any openings.

My d plays soccer also but luckily her games are on Sunday - we may have to leave early. I'm hoping for a late game    We rarely get a weekend off - she plays travel bball winter and summer, travel soccer fall and spring. The 2 sports usually overlap for a month at each end and that drives me nuts. She loves it, unfortunately for me. She used to do dance competitions on Sats but seems to have given that up  :p .

Just got my confirmation in the mail. I'm on site H12. Can't wait. Will be taking J to look at colleges the week before that (spring break). He gets his time, then I get mine

Welcome to COTOC and I hope you can make the trip.  Did you try calling and asking if they would allow you to make a one night reservation?  Maybe in the off season they would let you.  I am looking forward to meeting you in April.
 
Di I am glad that J's college looking will not be a problem.  Tell him that I hope he will come on the trip, now that I know he doesn't really hate camping.

Tracy, this is one cg he really enjoyed. In fact, he brought a friend and they were off playing raquetball, tennis & bball most of the weekend - when they weren't in the pool...

K may have broken her foot tonight in a bball game. Hope not. This yr, she already broke several fingers and her nose. At least the girl who took her down apologized after the game. Better than last week's game against East Orange. These girls are rough! She went off to bed with a big bump at the injury site, but we're hopeful that tomorrow it'll be better. But she couldn't put weight on it and sat out the rest of the game - unlike when she broke her nose and fingers and failed to even tell the coach (coz she wanted to keep playing).
