Hey guys, just figured I would let you know that I picked up a compact folding ladder at walmart for $25.  It will hold 225# so it is a decent ladder.  I couldn't help but like the one somebody had last year at locust lake but didn't want to spend what camping world wanted.  Just figured to pass it along.

Oh man!!  I just got home from Wal-Mart - wish I had thought to look there...

I have a little 2 step, step ladder.:)

You are talking about the ladder I had that I got from the silent auction at Flaming Arrow.  Dee and Ken had donated that ladder, I think I paid $12.00 for it...they had paid a whole lot more,

and I have one of those rubbermaid steps for shorter heights.

Quick question since I brought up buying stuff... For road hazzard plans, does anyone have one that covers their pup also?  Was thinking of getting AAA but I didn't know if there was something better.

Check that AAA will cover your PU.  Some of the AAA will, but others will not.  If your AAA will cover the PU and you break down in a different AAA area, they may or may not cover the PU.  It depends on if that AAA covers trailers or not.  At least that is how my local AAA explained it to me and they don't cover trailers.  I think Good Sam's has a plan to cover the TV and trailer both.:)

Thanks, that is great info to have.  I will check into them both closer.

We dropped our AAA membership and bought the Good Sam program instead.  We've used it once for one of our vehicles.  Service was fast and excellent.  We got it in part because it covers all our vehicles AND our camper.  We've been satisfied with the Good Sam Club policy.

good sams here! never had a problem with them! also quick within 40 mins, We had to use them three times, twice in a month, and no problems, and they got us a rental car and the tow truck driver drop our trailer at the nearest campground first, which good sams got for us, and then took the van (back then) to the tranny shop.

Good Sams ERS is hands down the BEST roadside assistance plan in existance.  Their website is: http://www.goodsamclub.com/ers/index.cfm  Their best response time was literally 4 minutes.  FOUR.  Had a flatbed to me that quick.  Their worst was just a tad over an hour.  My sisters car wouldn't start on a snowy day.  The operator called back every 15-20 minutes to make sure we were still safe and asked if we wanted the police to come.  I would never drive anywhere without Good Sam covering me.

Thanks everyone.  Great hearing that much good about them.  That made my decision very easy.

When I was in Watkin's Glenn last year at the dump station, I had to get close to the wood barrier, I usually back up so I can pull off, but a woman who did not speak English pulled her motor home up real close and personal to my trailer while dumping, she did NOT understand that I had to back up to get out, and since I do not speak French Canadian and she did not speak English, her interpreter was not there, I backed as far as I dared ) 3 to 4 feet, literall on her front bumper, then tried to manuver, Ya just can't unhook and push one of these things, so after several tries, I just went for it and scraped a hole in the side wall of my tire.  I limped over to the RV parking and called GOOD SAM, the first time I used them...Our AAA does not offer RV, Good Sam uses Affinity (the same company Walmart contracts with). Because of distance, it did take a little while and we had to use MY jack, he had to use MY jack and MY air compresser to air up the spare, and I follwed him to some where to make sure all the tires were right...but bottom line is that someone came with a lug wrench *Raymond had taken it out of the back of the truck.

Bottom Line is I LOVE Good Sam, I now have one of those  tubes strapped to my trailer with 20 feet of sewer hose, and a 4 way that is behind the seat of the truck with my battery zapper/air compressor/light. and inverter gadgetty thing...and expandable tent poles...

Well, since it seemed like it was a hands down winner, I signed up tonight.  Thanks everyone.  Its funny, I have camped all my life, my parents had a pup and hardsides and I still feel like a newby on many things.  I appreciate all the help.

And after reading the cotoc quiz, I guess I had better sign off as:

Sincerely,
Pumpkinhead's dad.
