When do you all want to head south??

I have no clue about the SP close to home (lums Pond), but we liked Killens Pond, though sites are relatively small, but it has a water park.
Debbie Dee has a sister in the area and Dee likes the area.

Trapps Pond is much better but further south we had a MAPCE Rally there a few years ago and had a great time, I have a kayak and an inflatable for the kayaking area, Kershner and Paula have done that.

Cape Henlopen has NO electricity so I would only go there in Spring or fall, and though it is further from the beach than Assateague, it still gets a hair windy.
Delaware Seashore is basically a parking lot. Can see it as you cross the bridge as we head to or From Ocean City MD.

There are a few Private campgrounds down in Sussex county, including the fairgrounds, but the campground is right on US 13.  We have stayed at Tall Pines outside Lewes, it was OK, the w/e sites were staggered so we were in the front and the neighbor was almost on our site sort of behind us.  The w/e/s sites are in the open.  Then there are others down by the beaches around Rehobeth. three seasons and Big Oaks. Not sure if 3 seasons will open this year as I understand the property has been sold and it is $$$ as it is a resort. There is another with a Jayco Dealership down to the west of Bethany Beach.  But Camp grounds in DE are few and far between...Now Myrtle Beach...*sigh*

Sounds good to me.  Lets decide on a date and place, then go for it.  Thanks Paula!

Let me know what is good for the majority (Tracy's Birthday is out and we could loose Tracy if it is too far south). I do not have kids that are in Band, piano, scouts etc...in fact for the last few weeks we ahve been kidless as he has run away and has a missing persons report on him, so you all tell me what is good for ya'll.

Though I like Trapps, my vote is for Lums Pond SP (I 95 to 896 south and then about 5 miles)  (yes this is the same 896 that ends/starts at US 30 at the Lancaster Outlets lots of curves and twists through PA I recommend going on up 30 to PA41 to PA 7 south to I 95 South in DE to 896)

or

Killens (Between Milford DE, yes Kelsey this is a SuperWalmart there as well as a BiggLotts and a Bonanza food bar) and Harrington DE, where there is a track and slots for the adults. US 13 is the best way in.

I've not been to Lum's Pond for years.  Here is a link to the web page with info on Lum's.

And, for good measure, the link to Killens.

Hi Chip...Chip actually did the leg work for our Trapps Trip, then could not make it...Hope you can make this one.

According to this Lums is primarily dry camping, only 6 with electric.

Almost all of Killens is Electric and water.

The state fair is in July also, another good time to stay away.

The last weekend in June is also a big HotRod show at Harrington Fairgrounds.  I think it's the weekend of the 23-25th this year.  Don't know how that affects campgrounds, but you can't get a hotel anywhere.

i wouldn't mine the state fair, they have a nice one

Tracy how far south can you/will you come? Lums only has 6 sites that are not dry camping (geesh and so close to the big cities too).

Cliff is talking about setting up the Annual MAPCE Spring Fling at First Landing SP in VA beach, that is traditionally Easter Weekend, have been add to add a few days around it...He said they added electric to a bunch of sites. Not Delaware...

It depends on when the trip is.  If it is during the school year I can't leave until after school gets out or when I get home, either 420PM to 500PM.  If I can take Friday off and school is out I am willing to go further.:)

If I can't make it, I can't make it.
