OK, I am at our local sporting goods store this afternoon, and I see somthing called a "Truck Box Light" it is $9.99.  It is a small LED light with a magnetic switch that when it is separated, the light comes on.  You are supposed to put it in you truck bed box.  Of course I immediatelly thought of about 5 uses in our PU, so I got one and figured if it works I will get more.  I installed it on the door frame, with the magnet on the door.  Turn on the "on" switch, the light comes on and "cool" (insert ooohs and aaaahs here :)  ).  I close the door and it goes off, open the door, and it comes on, wow it works!  It is not very bright, but will provide enough light so that we don't need a flashlight to get to the switch on the overhead light.  It is LED, so the one AAA battery should last forever since it is off most of the time any way.  I will post some pics on my Webshots and Pop Up Gallery page in the electrical mods folder.  This would be a great item for those with front trunks, one on each side would be good.  I think I will get a couple and put them in the under seat storage, and under the sink.

Having one in the cupboard I use for pots and pans would be very good.  What is the name of the store you got it in?

Doc, It is made by "Design Tech" of Springfield Virginia (most likely just the importer). The packaging says "Truck Box Light" and has all instructions, etc. in French and Spanish. There is an 800 number on the back along with an address. The number is 800-337-4468. I think this thing could be an answer to my under sink cabinet lighting dilema, among other uses. You may be able to call Sportsman's Wearhouse here, the number is 801-567-1000. I found the light in the truck department near the various accessories.

Sounds like this could be the answer to the perennial lid up/lid down problem on the ol' porta pottie.
