He and Moose were sitting in a pizza parlour, drinking a pitcher of dark beer and eating jalapeno and anchovie pizza.  (Okay, that part about the pizza was Dave--Moose wouldn't have any part of it)  Apparently there were a whole bunch of cheerleaders in the place as well, but I told Moose I wasn't worried about them.  Even if the cheerleaders made off with our boys; after they'd had those two for awhile, they'd be glad to bring 'em back! ;) :J
LOL!  That's too funny!  Well, it's 5AM - can't sleep with Dan gone - but Zach and I went on a mother/son "date" last night and had some bonding time.  It's off to work and then POOF! we'll all be together.  It's such a relief to see this all come together since you got me started last January!

See ya in a few hours!!!

Does anyone know if I can use a dutch oven and charcoal at VLR?  I know they're pretty picky about fires and it is a "red flag fire warning" this weekend.  My potluck offering depends on the answer!

Well, I'll post while I'm still coherent.  In spite of a rude, rude, rude final night, I consider the weekend an absolute blessing in so many ways.  Jed looks to be a star camper :D, and that side of the trip went off without a hitch.  No accidents in the PUP (only 1 on the outside rug -- my fault for not moving fast enough).  I always come away from the weekends feeling to supported by you all!  The trip home was uneventful, and I was unpacked clothes sorted for laundry, and BOTH of us cleaned & fluffed in good time.  Now, if only he'll take a nap for a little while ...

I do intent to write to Vail Lake about their lack of concern regarding the go-carts, after-hours parties, and lack of security.  Grrrrr ...  I don't want those things to spoil my memories, so the sooner a letter is done, the sooner I'll let it go.

Again, thanks for a great time all the way around!

Laura -- and Jed.

Dear Friends,

Thanks a million and one for all of the support you lent me from the very beginning of planning this rally.  The list could sound like an Oscar speech, but...

Lori and Dee you are awesome teachers - thanks for putting up with all the PM's and phone calls!
Kristi you are the craft Queen!
Brandon and CJPoppins - the movie theatre was a BRILLIANT idea!
Roberta - the decorating prizes were wonderful and so appreciated!
EVERYONE - thanks for prompt payments and the excellent food!!!!
Parents of Luke, John, Kevin and Sean - what a FUN group of judges!
Laura, Wes, and Karen - You were so sweet to see me coming and say YES anyways to costume judging!
  Moose...the jam...need I say more?

AND...to the camp medics who took over when the sight of my son's blood made me panic - Lori, Dave, Brian, Laura, Paula and Brandon  BLESS YOU!

I will be spending the rest of the day cleaning up the laundry and pampering my poor husband who had to do it all this weekend.
(at first I wrote "cleaning and pampering my poor husband...then I thought, "Brian would find something funny to tease me about in that sentence)  :o

Love you guys - see many of you in a couple of weeks!  :! Cheers!

Ah, we made it back in record time!  It only took us an hour and a half!  I still loathe doing the Ortega....and Logann started getting carsick with all the curves.   But, she is back to normal now...taunting and wrestling with her sister.  Bran is sitting down watching (with his eyes closed) football.  And, Riley is excited to be hanging out on our deck....relaxing.

Kristi...you did an AWESOME job of wagonmistressing this whole weekend!  Thank you for much for all your time and effort!!  I will have to lean on you...and Dee...and Lori...and everyone else....when I try to pull off the Easter Weekend.  We missed you last night....thought about Zach.  I hope Matt has a great time at 5th grade camp!

I'd still be willing to go back to Vail next year....just with a special operative plan for those blasted golf carts!  And, maybe some screen rooms to hide from the bees!

It was great seeing all of you!  And, we enjoyed meeting new and fun people...like Brad and Mary....Kevin and Marie...and everyone else!

We look forward to seeing you next month!

Thanks for a great time folks.  Kristi, Melissa, Jason and I had a lot of fun.  Other than a struggle packing up this morning it was great.  I attribute it all to SCCAMPERS, not the venue.

Come on, what do you expect for $65 a night? Picnic tables and well maintained bathrooms?  Haha.

PopUpMomma

Hi all,
we made it home safe and sound also.  Kristi......fantastic job!!!!  We also had issues with the golf carts...Patty went and chased one down this morning.  It was pretty funny but they did slow down........We talked about all the different things that went on during the weeked.......I was sick friday night, my daughter Lindsey was sick all day saturday...Greg having to leave at 6am saturday morning to pick up Lindsey because friday night was homecoming.....my son having a close call at work....and not being able to talk with him....thank goodness Bob (Allen) had his work phone and got perfect reception....singlar....nothing for verizon.....the party acrosss the street that didn't end until........who knows saturday night.......the bees....etc...and we decided we wouldn't change anything......except for the illness....that every year we have more fun than the year before.....and we are so busy during the weekend and so many things to do that it's just not ment to be a "down - relaxing - kick back" type of weekend.  It's a go and go and go and have fun weekend....which we did every minute from the moment we got up until the moment we just couldn't keep our eyes open anymore.  You Sscamper are the best.  Thank you again for a fantastic weekend,....and Kristi, great job again.  So much fun!!!!  Next year we bring our own golf cart....hee hee.....

Oh, I almost forgot.....who made the cabage, coleslaw, crunch something or other salad.  It was fantastic.....what is it?  Please share!

See you at easter!!!!!!

Well may I add my two cents worth.......The sccamper event was perfect.....Such a fun time....Thanks for the gift what a surprise....Thought the winner's would get a note of thanks and when we won a prize and the gift and what a gift it was.....A new lantern, which we really needed ! Both ours broke this campout......Did you peek or hear us yelling....Hahaaaaa  My husband grabed the hat and was happy as a clam, our son-in-law took a key chain thingy......and all the fun other trinkets......What fun! Thanks again!!!
The movie night's were fun and the grandkids loved it..........Sue, I tried to find you Sat. night to talk with you......Then I was having a bad night and had to leave early to lay down.......Sorry.....Email me.............
About the campground I picked up sooooooooooooooo much trash in our campsite and our daughters....Very sad indeed for the price we paid......Also, every night we lost power couldn'd use our electric heater,etc......To fix dinner for Sat.morning had to plug into our daughter's site thank goodness we had some long cords......
The golf carts were a bit much was very worried some child would get hit.....
I do like the campground but the new owners need to get things under control if they plan on charging $$$$$ and at least get us a table  and put the benches back in the shower  area.........
Thanks Kristi and family for the best campout ever. Hand out sheet was very helpful.....You are the greatest and Roberta I understand you did the gift bags thank you very much.......One more thing who made the pumpkin dish in the dutch oven with the crunchy crumble on top? Could you please share,,,,,,,,Pleaseeeeee!
Looking forward to next Oct.....Already.......Those of you camping next month have a blast wish we could have been with you but we get to see our other grandkids in AZ..........Can't pass on that.........Love To All, Carol and Jim

My family had a blast this past weekend!  Thanks again Dan for the lantern when we setup late Friday night!

The organization, prizes, and food were fantastic!  Great job Wagonmaster Kristi!

Now, if Jeannie and I can only stay awake past 9:30 next time, maybe we'll eventually join in on some more of the fun!  :D

Late party?  Noise?  We slept through it all!  ;)

Thank you so much Kristi for our weekend. Although it was quite eventful we had a great time and would be more than willing to go back again next year. We just love the whole Halloween theme with the costumes, decorated campsites, hayride, etc. It was a bit scary though with our out of control neighbors last night and the golf carts (was there a golf cart convention rally going on???). The large screen movie theatre was fantastic, the pot lucks were yummy as usual and it was just great camping with old and new ScCampers--such a wonderful group. We really are glad that we are a part of this great camping family. We're already looking forward to next month and beyond.

They're getting one from us too. Paul talked to security Saturday night to try to avoid the screaming, racing, music until 1:30 AM that we had Friday night, and they said they'd come around shortly after 11:00 to check. It never happened. The lady he spoke with said they knew the golf carts were a problem, but I never saw security cruising around to calm them down or anything. Makes you thanksful for Pismo's too-vigilant security!

More thanks to Kristi and Dan for putting this together (I know when I take something on, I recruit my husband to help me in some way or another, so I know Dan must have helped).  I wish I'd have been able to put names to faces a bit more this weekend.  We had friends with us and I felt like I needed to stay kind of close to them, so I d dn't get to wander as much.

Sorry to flake out on the after hours fun Saturday night.  We went to the haunted hay ride and waited forever for Emily and Kaylee to go on.  Then Emily started feeling bad, so we left before they got to go on, but not before
they waited about 1 1/2 hours in line, and so I was taking care of her.  Then I was so tired, the bunk was calling my name!  Once the music quieted down about 11:30, I was out.

It was great reconnecting with old friends and meeting new ones.  I look forward to seeing you again, hopefully in a calmer venue!

Another "Trick or Treat in Temecula" is in the books and we had another great time.  Kristi, you did a great job on the Wagonmastering duties.  We are glad Zach is ok, we knew he had a hard head.  The 3 nights in a row staying up past 3AM is now taking it's toll.  Monday is always the hardest.  Aside from my trailer being parked on a huge incline, a potential brawl, and a medical thing, I think it was all in all a great time.  Brandon, the theater was a total success.  We are looking forward to the "Eggstravaganza" in April.

Which ever in your group had the truck with the chairs in it has a burned out right brake light on your trailer.
