Grease spots on Rims

Replaced the wheel bearings on my 94 jayco 1206 last spring. The previous owner had probably only serviced the old bearings once in 11 years. There was scoring all over the old bearings and there was petrified grease and pitting on the spindles. I cleaned and polished the spindles as best I could, none of the pitting was in the area where the races sit on the spindles luckily, and replaced the bearings and seals.  The surge brakes were rusted over and clearly had not engaged in years, so I cleaned and adjusted them.

Here is the potential problem. Although the hubs are staying cool, I am getting grease spots on the rims as I am driving. I assume it is coming from the grease cap. Is this something I should be concerned with? I will repack the bearings again as soon as the weather brakes. Any thing i should look for when I do?

A little grease on the front of the wheel doesn't really affect the operation. Now if you have it out the back/seal that's a different story. That's when it gets on the brakes.
A new set of duct covers and the trick using a piece of pipe that just fits over the center of the dust cap and rests on the flage will help seat the covers without the bending that even though it's small can cause a grease leak over time.
