Tracy,
"You wouldn't believe it. Rick was up around 7 am Saturday morning. That is a first on a camping trip."

Rick was probably too cold, haha, and wanted to make another fire - a real big one.

Shari and I started out on Saturday morning, we were still icicles from the sudden drop in temps on Friday and the NYC winds.  The gallery Viggo was at was very small and there were hundreds of stary eyed women (a brave few with their husbands, one teen ager came with her father) waiting, so we lined around the building and down the block, 42nd street I think...

So three hours of standing in almost freezing and finally at dusk freezing temps and the walking around from Penn Station to ICP by way of Bubba Gumps, at times square, where we had lunch with another viggo board member and her cousin, then the three of us went into line almost at the end of the building, that was about 2:30...the line moved slowly starting at 5:00 and we got in around 6:30 (he signed until 9:30)...

The standing alone can wear an old body out, but I was dragging my rolling book bag with lap top snack and everything but a warm coat...I wore a lined dress jacket not knowing that it was going to be soooooo cold...Shari, one of the others and I found a littleplace that served soup and coffee, warmed up a bit after the signing (they had wine at the signing, but ran out just as we got there, I hate wine, but was going to have a cup to get that inner glow that a little alcohol can give ya on a cold night...we were too late...more people than they had expected...

We caught a cab back to Penn Station, and caught our train back to Metropark NJ, and drove back home...on the way back Raymond called
from the police station...yeah, they had Jeffery, this time with pot.

Saturday AM neither of us could move fast,we went to Shady Maple for Breakfast, but we were too late, so it was lunch we had, went on to Hamburg to see Linda (if I ahd known you all were going to be at Cabellas we could have met you, but I had my cell turned off and Shari had the den with the PC... Linda runs a jewlery store in town, NOT the one as you head to the cracker barrel.

By the time we closed the Jewlery shop (3:00) we were sooooo tired, our joints still ached from Friday, so we opted to come home. We both were in bed by 8:00 I think.

Sorry!
I did get e-mail Tracy when I could get access to the PC.

I am home.  The camper is unpacked, the TV is unpacked and except for the dirty clothes.  I really had a good time and so did DS.  We will definitely do this again.  Thanks for suggestion to go camping.  Did I say we had fun, even with my camper breaking again at this campground.:)

Hey guys...

Better late than never posting that we're home I guess...  lol

As we were pulling out of the CG to head home, I got a call on my cell about a 97 Crown Vic I had for sale (the white one on my webshots pages).  I told the person that we'd be home between 4:30 - 5:00.  We got home about 4:45 and as soon as I unhooked the camper, the buyer arrived and paid cash for that car, and drove it away so it was a paperwork scramble to get everything done real quick.  We then gave Sabrina a bath, and ordered a pizza.  I then unpacked the van.  The guy in Michigan that bought my old Plymouth police car called and is supposed to come pick that one up next weekend, so everything is getting cleaned out around here...  :eyecrazy:

Boomer got through her surgery pretty well...  She has a big red cast on her entire leg, and she's on 3 different medications.  She seems a little out of it.  :(   I unpacked her little Coleman sleeping bag we got at the outlet and she went right in and absolutely loves it!

Andy and Tracy - we talked on the entire way home about how much we missed camping in a pop up...  While we had a LOT of fun on this trip, my camper was a LOT of work.  Between towing a huge box in high winds, the "tank incident", and then smashing my head, I wasn't really happy being a hybrid owner this weekend.  I figured out my mileage: going there with the headwind we got only 4 (yes FOUR) MPG, and going home we got 9 mpg.  When we had the Carmel, we got 16 while towing.  Maybe moving to the "dark side" isn't all it's cracked up to be...

Thanks again for all your help guys!  We had a wonderful time and we're really looking forward to our next trip!

PS - did order191 get home?

Yes...we left around noon. I almost went down 72 to Lancaster but I had been to the outlet a few months ago. I do need another pair of khakis, but we were a little short of time since I had to drop off the PU in Westminster, MD then take my son's friend home. I made it to 5pm church in time and the boys got to their soccer games. Nice seeing people again and some for the first time. Some of my wife's relatives are coming to visit from Indiana sometime in April; if it's not the weekend after Easter, maybe we can make it to Otter Lake. My son is off all that week unless it snows a lot more. I do like indoor pools at campgrounds!

I am glad that everyone made it home safe.  I really had fun and the cold wasn't too bad.  John I hope you can make it for my birthday.:)

It sounds like you all had fun this past weekend. One of our members went camping here in Ohio. When I got up Sunday morning,it was +10.That's not camping for me.He had two 1500 watt heaters plus the heat strip in his a/c and his furnace cycled every once in a while. Too cold for me. :) BRRRRRRR!

Haven't heard from the relatives yet...Robby is off all week and Terri has some vacation days to use up, so we may try for 3 nights. Did anyone find any irresistable bargains at the Coleman Outlet?

I picked up a battery operated table light for under $10.  I was hoping they would have the Coleman Propane oven that I saw at Cabalas, but they didn't.:)

I posted a few more pictures of the camping trip.  They are on my Webshots page.:)
