Went camping this weekend and noticed damage, soft spot on the upper inside ceiling, left rear, where the vanity mounts. The ceiling covering is wrinkled and there is a soft spot. Dont remember seeing it before. The unit is garaged all the time. It is an 03 Westlake with the new style roof. Any suggestions before I contact Fleetwood? We really love this unit and quite frankly are heart broken over it.Thanks

Sorry your roof has a problem.  Check around the end cap on the roof and see if the corner has separated.  It sounds like there is water leaking in somewhere.  I would be demanding a new roof and to get it installed ASAP.  Good luck.:)

Who do I demand from? We bought it from a dealer in Kentucky, had it delivered to our house in Florida, and now we live in Texas. should I call Fleetwood? I want to get off on the right foot also. I know people get pissed off real quick when you start demanding. ( I am very good at demanding)

I hope that you purchased it new. If you did, Fleetwood will honor the warranty.

I would contact Fleetwood first. Let them tell you where to take it. They have authorized dealers all over the country.

Fleetwood pays the dealer to do the repairs so it's not like the dealer is out anything. In fact, they may be quite happy to do it. They do make a small profit on warranty work (not as much as retail work, of course). If they are smart, they will treat you right, in hopes of keeping you as a repeat customer.

You will need to take the trailer to an authorized Fleetwood Folding camper dealer.  They will inspect the roof and then contact Fleetwood to get the authorization to replace it.  Any rot in the roof is not going to get better, so have them replace the roof.  It is a half day job if you have an air conditioner mounted so they don't need to keep it for days.  If your trailer is an 03 you have the life time replacement for the original owner.  Good luck.:)

Any local Fleetwood PU dealer can prform the work, but remember unless you ahppen to fall under their under the table Alumitite roof problem (the integral rack tracks leaked and in some cases Fleetwood has waved the shipping costs) you will be resposible for shipping the roof to the dealer. In Texas that could run between $700 and $900.
Your roof warranty is a "LIMITED" lifetime warranty with full replacement only for the first year. After that the original owner pays shipping.

It's an 03, new style roof. We just opened it and looked again. I have no idea what or where. Should I contact Coleman/Fleetwood according to the owners manual? There is not alot of authorized Coleman dealers in the San Antonio area. Anybody been through this? Total shock to us. I just hope Coleman/ Fleetwood helps out. We have planned an payed for spring break and do not want it sitting at a dealer, but what do you do? The kids have been camping since, forever, I don't want to fill their precious memories with, well ya'all seen it. Thanks for your advice. We ruled this weekend, the only Pup on the grounds, Kids had a blast and caught some fish. Don't ya just luv campin.

Thanks

I have had my roof replaced.  An authorized Fleetwood PU dealer has to check the roof and do the instillation.  Any idea where a dealer is?  Your going to have to take the PU there to get checked.:(

There is one 26 miles from home. Should I call Fleetwood or just go there?

Calling Fleetwood would do no harm, but don't go to the dealer until you talk to the dealer.  Many dealers have a backlog of service work and don't want your trailer on their lot until they are ready to work on it; if that is two weeks out, they may want to charge you for storage.

Fleetwood will not do anything until the dealer checks the roof.  Contact the dealer and explain what you found and find out when they can check the roof.  After they check it, they will contact Fleetwood to get the authorization to replace the roof.  They will order it and then you will have to take the PU back to them to have the new roof installed.:)
