At first, I thought this was great, but have you noticed, their map only has 49 states?  What's wrong with Hawaii?

I can only speak for myself   The states that are filled in on mine are the ones the kids and I have actually camped in ... driving through or visiting doesn't count.  What we camped in doesn't matter ~ our PU, someone else's camper, tent, etc ~ as long as we camped.  Also doesn't matter which parent the kids camped with ~ we got Wisconsin cuz their dad took them camping there last summer.  (And I camped there about 5 years ago.)

I have a 'real' camping map too.  I mounted it on an 18"x24" piece of plexiglass.  When we are camping I put it in the window of the bunkend that faces the road.  In the off season I hang it in the hallway so we can think about summer and plan trips to new states.  2006 may be a little lean for us ~ our big trip is to SD (already have that) AND I promised the kids no really long drives!!  If we're lucky we'll get North Dakota.  (Did I really just type that sentence??)

The "Official" map (which is stuck to the side of the pop-up) is only marked if we slept in the pop-up there.  So Ohio is blank even though the Taj MaHaul has been dragged across it at least 7 times, and Rhode Island is filled in even though we only slept in her in a parking lot (school reunion).

Alaska is the dream trip ... probably after the kids move on and I downsize a bit.

My wife and I would love to camp in Alaska sometime. I did it in a rented motorhome back in '81. My (current) wife has never been to Alaska and really wants to go.

for all the smart alecks out there (you know who you are ) ... Hawaii is on the 'real' map ~ I don't know who left it out of the online version.   The sticker may be a little tricky to get ~ not sure I can afford to fly all the chirren out there ~ now or ever!  I could get me out there with a tent ... but that wouldn't count.  Anybody wanna finance a camping trip?  :J
