just received a older popup free for the kids to fix up..normally i would just order replacement canvas for the viking but hubby has been having medical issues and not in a position to get replacement for the kids just starting out.  I know that i have seen modifications where they eliminate canvas and make an upright trailer..does anyone know of any modification plans or sites that I may check into....I work for home depot and have ameans of coming across products that I might be able to utilize into remodeling an older popup.  I can take care of the curtains and the cushions....structure is strong and outside including the roof is in immaculate shape..canvas is shot!! any help from the veterans would be greatly appreciated...

I suppose that you could try to duplicate something along the lines of what the Appache Popup trailer does. They have plastic panels that fold up into place and snap in tracksthat form the bunk ends that are canvas on other trailers. Same for the sidewalls.
If you use wood, that will probably be too heavy when you add up the weight from all the panels that will be needed.
This is just my opinion.
Good luck with whatever you decide.

BTW..welcome to the boards.
