I suppose, you travel with them and they are a trailer. In that case, if you have a boat, it sits on a trailer that travels as well so that must qualify as a travel trailer too. Let's just call them all campers and have it over with. Whether it pops up, pops down, slides in, slides out, lifts, pulls, cranks, has hard sides, soft sides,  hard and soft sides, or sits in the bed of a truck, as long as you can sleep in it, it's a camper.

I'm trying to figure out whose the bigger BSer... Viking or 6 Quigs    :screwy:  :J

Quote from: TheVikingI say if it has canvas sides and bunkends it is a pop-up. If it has hardsides and canvas bunkends it is a hybrid. A TT with a slide is just that. A vehicle that uses Fuel and electric is called a Hybrid because it is a mixture of the two. Same with a camper that has a little bit of a TT(Hardsides) and a little bit of a pop-up (Canvas Bunkends)
So an Apache is not a PU, because it has hard sides and hard bunkends, but it does fold down, so what is it???  So a tent trailer that has a fabric top, is a tent trailer, but if it has a hard top it is a hybrid?  It is a cross between a tent and a trailer...I used to know these things, but not any more.:eyecrazy:

You just made my point.....they all fall into the Camper category.   But then again......if we all have Campers......then what would we be called?  I thought WE were campers....oh crap, here we go again..

I own a hyibrid, Jayco 23B

I have owned 3 popups, Jayco Jay-series, Rockwood 1940 and a Coelman Mesa, these had to have the tops cranked up.

I have also owned a TENT camper.  This was a 1969 or something 6 foot box trailer.  You flipped open the top to one side, put poles under it, then opened the other lid and put poles under it.  These were the bunks.

Then you put the tent poles in the slots in the trailer and dragged the tenting over the poles.  No amenities, not even electricity and the exit was a zippered one.  Basically a tent on a platform with wheels.

Just thought I would add to the confusion. :)

Hmmmmm?  I just had visions of campgrounds being filled with leveled boat trailers.
