Picking up our camper tomorrow!

Well, we decided to pass on the camper that I had previously posted ("the one"-a 1992 that had some rust issues).  We found a 1999 Viking Legend 2460ST for a very good price!  It is in great condition and has been well cared for.  We are picking it up tomorrow from the previous (and only) owners.  They were selling it because they already moved up to a full sized TT.  I'm so excited and can't wait to get my new toy home.  This is our first camper and I'm trying to learn everything possible.  I'll post pictures as soon as I have them.  Thanks everyone for your help through this.

Congratulations! I think Chasd60 had a 2460, but not sure. Maybe he can give you some tips about it.

Have a great time in your camper, it's really the best.

Sounds like a wise decision. I hope that you got a better deal than the other one (comparatively speaking).

Good luck with it and happy camping :D .

Thanks!  I definitely think it's a better deal.  We spent a few hundred more (we would've spent $100 in gas going to Dallas and back) and got a camper that's 7 years newer and in much better condition.  Now, if I can just get the darn thing up my driveway and into my garage!  I'll be out cleaning it this weekend and will try to get pictures if the weather cooperates.  Someone forgot to tell the weatherman that this is Houston and it's not supposed to be COLD and rainy!  :)

Congrats on the new camper. We have had our Viking for almost 4 years now and have traveled across the country and love it. Ours does not have the slide out. It is the same floor plan as the 2470 ST but it came with all the bells and whistles. Did you get a manual with yours? If not you can download the one on //www.vikingrv.com

Enjoy your new purchase. You have many beautiful state parks in Texas to visit.

Yes, it's exactly like that one (but with A/C and much cheaper).  In fact, that is the link I emailed to family  and friends to show them what ours looks like.  It really looks spacious inside.  Unfortunately, with the weather we've had (rainy every weekend for the last 3 weeks), we haven't gotten to open it up too much to play.  Tomorrow is supposed to be mostly sunny so I hope to get it popped up, cleaned and loaded.
