Haven't tried it yet but they just raved about it. It's right in Oxnard and 5 miles off the main highway. NO TRAINS!!!

That looks like McGrath to me.  Nice, but the road is a bit noisy for me.  Can't stand hearing cars!  And because of the sand dunes, it's kind of hard to hear the surf at night.  I've been several times, mostly in a Class C, but it's delightful -- especially in the summer when it's stifling in town.  It books up pretty fast, though.

 Guess I'm a little spoiled with Michigan State Parks. We do have 1 that squeezes them in like that on Lk Michigan..we always drove by scratching our heads.  Here  is our favorite local CG site.

Actually, we used to go camping up in Northern Michigan and Wisconsin Dells area back many, many years ago. OMG.....do they still have those dinosaurs up there? :p

I think all those trees are great but i also think if we had those on the beach it take away from the view.   The one bright spot about living in SoCal is, drive a bit and camp at the beach, or drive a bit more and camp in the Sequoia's. Not many state's have that luxury.

Ya....we used to add........."drive a bit more and you are in the desert" ....but now what used to be desert is all new housing developments, amusement parks and shopping malls. :p

What weekend are you going to Leo Carrillo State Beach? We are going to Refugio (right down the road) the weekend of the 7th - 9th. If that's the same weekend, maybe we'll stop by and say "Howdy" .

Leo Carrillo is our favorite CG on the coast, so far.......
