Hi you need to check to see if the roof has brace"s to help support the A/C the  new camper have the brace made in to the roof. on my old 94 coleman i had the braces were in the inside of the camper on the ceiling. if your camper has a roof vent in it you would take the vent out and the a/c well go were the vent is  you well also need a gasket for the bottom of the a/c to keep water out you can the gasket from the dealer.

As an FYI no Coleman of the 70's and 80's vintage has a roof reinforced for the added weight of an air conditioner. The lift system would also be marginal if an A/C was installed.

If you are thinking about putting an A/C unit on the roof you better make sure you add a pair of support bars or you'll have a sagging roof before long. Mine looks loke this-
