Hey all!

Do we have hookups there?  I think I remember reading that we'll have electric and water, but no sewer...  am I right?

tlhdoc

Bruce you should have waited for the rest of us that will be new to DE.;)  Just kidding.  How did you like the park?  I drove by it on my way to Assateague in June this year, but didn't stop to look at it.

Rick we have water/electric according to the web site, but I worry about the campground map showing water faucets.:)

tlhdoc

Is there a deposit on cans and bottles in DE?  Does anyone know about WV?  Thanks!:)

SheBantam

Delaware yes, if the bottle is marked DE, some are some are not.

Cans, no, but there are recycling bins around.

Have no idea about WV, did you e-mail ANthony?

SheBantam

Water and electric on each site, at least when I was there several years ago.

If anybody is still reading this, we've had some family issues crop up which combined with the weather forecast and the price of gas means we are going to cancel this outing.

Sorry, it all came up last minute.

tlhdoc

Bruce sorry you will not be there.  Maybe next time.  I hope everything works out at home.:)

sorry to here it, the weather is humid, but still dry! no rain !

I had to come in to work for disaster recovery testing...what a night last night. Tornado warnings in Central Delaware, especially around Clayton (North of Dover, about 25 minutes from where we are) and it poured down rain, hard heavy rain all night.

There is a tree across the road that leads to the Campground from US 13, I was able to drive in the grass but I would be hesitant as wet as it was to take a heavy camper through there. Hopefully they will have it out of the road or route the campers through the other part of the SP to get back to 13.

Yesterday for the most part was beautiful, cooler, less humid clear until evening.

Becky passed the bad luck with serpintine belts. Sara, Becky's sister lost her's during a torrential downpour where people were pulling off DE Rt.1 or going about 20 mph (Rt. 1 is 65 MPH). Since Noel was driving the truck with the camper they got in about dark, the car is at Pepboys in DOver.

Today Ricks mom wanted to see Assateague, so You know Tracy and Assateague...I wonder how much arm twisting it took to talk Tracy into taking her??? J/K

Last night's pot luck was called off and we were going to go to Dover to Golden Corral, but people were starving and Bonanza in Milford is a lot closer. The adult Wades could not make it as they were in Kent General, DiW tripped over her neighbor's tent ropes. Kelsey and friend stayed back and Rick made sure they got to Bonanza...

Well still waiting for them to get me fixed so I get in and start testing so I can go home for a while to rest, before I make the trek back down state to the camper.

I am camping with a great group here...I have a full blown sinus infection and they are looking out for me...hubby came for the night Friday, complained I had the trailer too cold, and went home yesterday afternoon...so maybe I'll complain about the house and go back to the camper...turn about is fair play.

It's hard to figure out what's going on from your post, Paula, but whatever it is, it sounds difficult.  I wish you all a good camping experience.

We'll be leaving for Strasburg, PA tomorrow morning, as early as we can get out.  We had been trying to figure a way to get to Killens Pond to see you all, but it's not to be.  Sherrie and I were to perform yesterday morning for the Festival of Art in Corning.  We arrived at the venue ready to set up but got rained out.  We did perform this morning for Sherrie's church.  The weather's a lot better today than it was yesterday.

Happy camping and safe travels to all.

Back from Killens Pond......

We had a good time, and it was fun meeting some of the members of COTOC. Maybe I'll get to meet the rest of you on the next trip.

dee106, thanks for the weather update Sat. night. We packed up the kids tents right before the downpour which turned our site into a swimming pool.

Boy, you guys where not kidding when you said it rained on your trips. I haven't seen that much rain in one weekend in a long time. Hopefully the next trip will be better.

I am trying to talk the wife and kids into the Fall Rally. Hopefully we will be able to make it. :tent:
