Hickory Run State Park question

It seems like there's been some camping at Hickory Run.  Does anyone have any recommended electric sites?  We're planning a summer trip and you never know unless you've seen a campground what it's really like.  Thanks.

COTOC has had several rallies at Hickory Run SP.  Here are electric sites I like 198, 233, 240, 243, 251, 253, 260, 262, 263, 264, 265, and 266.  Site 216 floods if there is a hard/long rain so I would avoid that one.  If you plan on using the showers there I would recommend wearing flip flops or some other type of shower shoe, unless they are keeping the bathrooms cleaner now,  The bathroom is shared between the all electric loop and the loop that has a few electric sites.  If you are in the all electric loop the sites go up hill as you go toward the back of the loop.  It isn't that steep of a hill going around, but if you take the short cut road through the loop it is steeper.

When are you camping at Hickory Run?  COTOC (Campers Of The Original Colonies) was debating between Hickory Run and Otter Lake campground, near Marshalls Creek, PA for April 21st weekend.  Otter Creek won.  If you are interested you are welcome to join us.:)

Saaaaaay, we have the weekend of the 21st set aside for camping already, and one of the places we wanted to try this year is Otter Lake! Sounds like a match to me. Can you provide me with some more info? We might be able to join ya.

Here is the link for the trip to Otter Lake.  Hope you can make it.:)

Uh oh, it looks like you started planning this in December of 05. From what I hear about Otter Lake you don't stand a chance of getting a spot unless you reserve months in advance. I'll give them a call, but I may have come to the party a bit too late.  :%

Well, it looks like I'll need to read that other thread; I was able to get a reservation for April 21st, 22nd and 23rd in site H6. Guess you're gonna see my ugly mug in person after all!  :)

It will only be me and the "better half" though. None of our kids will be around that weekend.

Welcome to COTOC. I am looking forward to meeting you.  I added you to the list, but why don't you post that you are coming over at the COTOC section.:)

jawilson

Because I thought hijacking this thread was a better idea!  ;) Just kidding.

I'll wonder over that way now...

Welcome to our group. The more the merrier. AND we get to check out a Caravan... Actually we may be checking out a few new campers that weekend. Some members got the spring itch and made some changes.
