I need to reseal the roof and sidewalls of my '98 Jayco.  I've read...re-read...all the posts on here and other websites about resealing with butyl putty vs. using a more hi-tech approach (silicone, urethane, polysulfide caulks, etc.).

I'm probably over-thinking this but want it to last as I've tried removing various projects in the past that used silicone, and it was not enjoyable.  So once again for me...please share some thoughts on the pros/cons.  THANKS

I used what Starcraft recommended in their owner's manual ... Dow Silicone #999A.
Has worked fine for me.
