Hey Der
Sorry for posting here but I am hopeing to get a better response.  We are planning a trip to florida/Alabama in May.  Has anyone Camped in Gulf Shores since the huricane?  And we also looked at T H stone park.  Cocerned about the FEMA trailers and general saftey issues as well as the overall condition of the park.  We would be coming from Chicago And with all the driving would like to make a good choice.  Thanks  Ken

And I will post this in the reveiws section as well.

Just got back from 4 days at gulf shores.. The park  is still recovering from the hurricane. What was once shady campsites are mostly out in the sun. You can still see the destuction in many places and in some of the facilities... The sites are spacous and paved... some of the nicest staff I have ever met at a state park.. Nice breeze blows off the ocean and keeps things a little cooler.. There is a conveneint Wal mart just outside the park.. Nice place to enjoy gulf shores from. Beach is just a minute away... Highly recommend it  instead of the condo thing

sandskeeter you must have been there the same time we were. Rained monday and tuesday night but other than that the weather was great.  I would agree with what you said. about the staff.  It will probably be 15 years before the trees are back according to the staff.
