Need advice.......Last time we camped in PU we had 2 things plugged into the pu. 1 was a small electric heater to take chill off and the other was an electric skillet plus a light on in pu.  This much kept blowing fuse until we unplugged the skillet and plugged this into the 110. Could this be a problem with our wireing or just too  much going..I am concerned about using the 30 amp for A/C and having lights and things going to.

Thanks

Most likely one of your breakers is a 15 amp breaker, and that's what you probably were plugged into.  An electric fry pan uses about 1000 watts of power, and I'll guess that your electric heater ia about 1500 watts.  I used this calculator and came up with you trying to pull abut 20.8 amps, 8.3 for the fry pan, 12.5 for the heater.

Anything that generates a lot of heat pulls a lot of current.

Don't worry about the A/C. It is on a separate breaker and has no effect on your outlet breaker.

The outlets work on a separate breaker and your lights are 12v and don't work off of the circuit breakers at all. They have separate fuses.

The only thing that you really need to be concerned about is overloading the 110v (household) outlets. Even then, all that you will do is trip a breaker. That's why they are there. If you trip a breaker, unplug 1 item, reset the breaker and you are good to go. Tripping the breakers doesn't harm anything, it just lets you know that you need do lighten the load. Now you know that when you use the frying pan, you need to turn the heater off or at least down (try using it on low).

I was constantly tripping the breaker in our camper. For some reason, I couldn't seem to rememebr that we can't have the electric heater, tv, and coffee maker all plugged in at the same time. :yikes: I'm an expert at popping off the fuse cover and resetting the breaker. I solved the problem by percing the coffee. ;) The good news is that while you probably don't want to make a habit of it, it doesn't hurt the camper. :D

Thanks for all of your help..Being a newbie at PUPs I was hoping that was all that it was doing.  I think when I plug in the electric things to use the 110 plug in for all but my coffee maker..Maybe I will be safe then...hehehe  We are going on our first trip this weekend so I can tell what to plugin and not to go hyper if the breaker trips..Have to confess something..On the very first trip out this happened.  We were in the dark for a bit as we did not know where the reset button was.LOL  Now we are pros to finding it...:))

do what we do, run an extra extenision cord ( heavy duty) from the box, 99% of the time you have  other outlets in the box outside, and plug the heater into that, so your not using your inverter. you can get a 12volt coffee pot (popup times store has them) or when you are using one heavy voltage thing, shut off the other. better yet  cook with gas or wood/charcoal!
