I am considering switching my auto insurance company and have received a very good quote from AAA insurance.

Anyone have any pros or cons on this company?

Gene - I don't have their auto insurance policy but do have their emergency road service, which has been real useful at times. For that raod service I'd have to speak real highly of them. The reason I never considered their auto policy is that I have kin folk in the insurance business and to do that would mean a family fued ... ya know?

I have had AAA since 1987. I currently insure cars, trailer, and home with them. I have zero complaints and every 2-3 years I try to find lower prices and can't beat the prices they are giving me. I do however get group rates through my credit union. (thats a hint for extra savings)  :)

Hi Gene :W:W:W  We've had AAA for a few yrs now...so far no complaints. They haven't turned down any of our darn doors been hit again claims. Also they have not raised or rates a ton either. The only problem I have is they do not offer Zero glass coverage. Being in a Van I do miss the Zero Glass

AAA??? Go with the leader STATE FARM INS.!!! There's a reason why they're the best - SERVICE, VALUE AND PIECE OF MIND. Like a good neighbor State Farm is there.

Have to agree, State Farm is a good company but the rates were cheaper at my current company when I switched.  I was with State Farm for many years and always got good service.

Reason I am considering changing is the quote I got on the rates.  A $1300 a year savngs is not something to sneeze at.

Plus I could save more if I switch my homeowners over to them.

That amount would pay the gas for a 5000 mile trip. I'd rather be camping than paying for insurance.

Thanks for the comments all.

I think I will look into AAA insurance when ours comes due in June.  :)

I personally have had good luck with State Farm. My parents...that's another story.

We also have family in the State Farm business, (Holly's family), so I think I'll just lay low and keep paying whatever I'm paying.

He's an attorney for AAA.

I used to have AAA insurance but they told me that if we were on the road and something happened to the TV, only the TV would be towed...the trailer would have to be left behind!!!!!  I DON"T THINK SO!
We switched to Good Sam road service and State Farm Auto insurance and have better rates and great service.

I also have the Good Sam Road Service.  Exactly for the reason you mentioned about AAA not towing the trailer.

As for State Farm, I was very happy with them but my current provider had lower rates at the time I switched.  Perhaps I should check back with them to get a quote.

You have to get their "Plus RV " membership to qualify the camper for towing.
Which of course costs a little more than the normal membership...another thing to think about is if I recall right when we first switched to AAA we had to be members for 1 yr before they let us get the " Plus RV" .

Not all areas offer Plus RV.  My area does not offer it and they told me that if someone has Plus RV and brake down in an area that doesn't offer Plus RV that they don't honor it, so be careful you aren't covered everywhere.:(

State Farm's rates are competitive and in most cases lower. That's why State Farm insures more people by far. It's not even close. And State Farm has the best claims dept. in the world!!!

One other thing to consider. State Farm will not cancel your policy if you make a claim. LOL
