For any of you interested in checking out some really cool vintage trailers, they are having another rally from May 18-21 at Newport Dunes.  A few years ago we just happened to be camping the same weekend as their rally and we got to see some really nice trailers.  Saturday afternoon they have an open house and all are welcome to tour approximately 100 trailers.  Alot people have a theme--Hawaiian, Elvis, Coca-Cola, retro, to name a few.  People sell stuff too...it's like a giant vintage RV show.  I doubt if there are any campsites available but I think it is worth a day trip.

Jeanne, that looks like fun! I'll talk to Lori about going there. We're only 30 minutes away.

GrizzlyTaco

How far away is that from Vegas? We might consider a day and a half trip and just stay in a motel

OC Campers

When we lived in Huntington Beach it used to take us about 4 1/2 hours to drive to Vegas.  I would say it is about 250 miles.

Jacqui--was that with you or Randy driving?  :Z :D

Grizz--depending on whether it was Jacqui or her DH Randy, I'd give or take an hour or two on that estimate... ;)

griffsdad

GT that is a long drive from Las Vegas. My estimate is 5 hours.

Was that towing or not towing a trailer ?.........Ed

Sounds fun, but I'll leave the camper at home for this one. I should be able to get the time off. It will probably just be the girls and I. My wife has to work. Does anyone know of a hotel in the area of the Vintage RV Ralley. My little ones enjoy staying in motels....dont ask me why. If your all going to the rally we could hook -up..........Ed

GrizzlyTaco

Does anyone have an address for the Rally , so I can get driving direction offf the computer?.........Thanks.......Ed

griffsdad

The address for Newport Dunes is 1131 Back Bay Drive, Newport Beach, Cal. Their web address is newportdunes.com.

Ok, lets get a head count people!!  If we can find a place to camp down that way we will go.  How many others will go too?  I have an ace in the hole for getting a campsite but I want to make sure we can go look at these campers or if it is only for the people that are showing them.  Let me hear ya if you plan on attending!!
