39% Dixie - definitely a Yankee.  I've lived longer in the South, but my heritage is clearly the Midwest.  ;)

Boy, that's even more Yankee than me!

One thing that's important to recognize is that the definition of "Yankee" changes based on where you are.

If you are in central Asia, anyone from the US (and probably those Canadiens, too) are Yankees.

If you are in the deep south, anyone further north is a Yankee.

Funny thing happens around New York (where the term originated).  Instead of "anyone further north IS a Yankee, it changes to anyone further south ISN'T a Yankee.

So griffsdad, take heart in knowing that those New York Yankees are not really Yankees, despite the name.

Of course, a true Maine Down Easter knows those Red Sox aren't really yankees either, ayah.

Lived in New York (not the city) all my life.

Exactly the same, and exactly the same history. We should go camping together sometime.

Amen, brother.  According to the test, I was 91 percent Dixie.  I was born in Miami too.  Lived there until I was ten, then moved up to N. Georgia.  We were in Naples and the Keys as much as Miami, still have kinfolk in Naples.  I am somewhat of an anomaly, though.  I love saltwater fishing and the sight of the ocean, but I get seasick and can't stand the taste of fish.  The folks said I must have been switched at birth.

Would be happy to meet you sometime.  I have some happy memories of Canandaigua.
