It's benn brought up many times before but for New PU-ers here's a tip.  Gas prices will be up so to save a little $$$$$ keep your speed lower. The savings add up driving 60-65 mph vs 70-75mph.  I have noticed a big difference.  It is also safer.

I wanna. They actually get better mileage than my 4 banger. And cheaper fuel during camping season, too. I have to use Premium when towing.

LOL is right!  The cost of a NEW deisel TV will buy thousands of gallons of gasoline.

We normally tow at 60 mph, but because we were going about 400 miles, we bumped it up and drove down at 65-70, along with the erratic speeds that large trucks cause through the mountains in heavy traffic.

Coming home, we drove 60. And got 3 mpg better fuel mileage.

Most people unfairly consider the amount of extra gas they can buy with the extra $4-5K for the diesel TV as the only factor. They fail to consider the added value of the diesel when you resell it. It seems like the added cost doesn't depreciate from what I have seen for used diesels.

I sold my 2001 1/2 ton gasser and bought a 2001 3/4 diesel for the same $$ after looking for a deal.

Not to mention the incredible pulling power. Maybe not an issue in the popup world, but when we go to TT/fiver, I will have a diesel. I'm tired of being marginal in my towing, although it has been a faithful truck (getting a new clutch as I type).

Ease of towing is also worth some bucks.
