I got mine today also, I have to say its not what i thought it would be, I Like it!! It still has PU stuff along with other interesting articles. I have a friend Robert who would like an RV, but there weren't any that had handicaped access, and the article on page 22, Sunline Unveils Handicamping Unit is really interesting, my friend is going to look into this unit. Good going Bob Zagami!! Keep up the good work..........Ed C. :sombraro:

I got my today also. I've only quickly scanned it, but it looks like a good read. Plenty of popup articles. Although what happend to the continuation of the conversion van article? I was looking forward to that. I assumed the Nico Lico test drive of the GMC Savanna conversion van would have carried forward from pop up times to RV enthusiast.

I received my copy today, I like it.

I was paricularly moved by former Arvee Club regular CajunCamper's tribute to his departed son, Alex.

Because of his parent's care for their sons, he got the chance to live the fullest life possible for the too few years he had.

I miss CC's contributions here, but can understand that sometimes people need to move on.

Hi, ya'll ...I've been AWOL for a long time....the hip arthritis was soo painful that popupping took too much energy. Did not get out very often last year. It's now 8 weeks since I got a new hip and I'm raring to go.  Have two trips planned.

When I got the RV Enthusiast last night, I thought, "I don't remember subscribing to this magazine."  (Camping Life, Trailer Life yes).

I saw the Popup Times on the cover and then remembered.   My back was up when I read Bob's letter saying they would include RV's up to $100K.   However, people ARE looking to upgrade and/or downsize so I can go along with this.  And that new A-frame is gorgeous.

After finishing the magazine I thought, "I'll renew the subscription."

Cajun Camper's story must have been very difficult to write.  I met a woman at the rehab center and we were talking about kayaking.  Her son (early 20s, I believe) died about a year ago, and she was afraid that if she went kayaking it would have a negative impact since she used to paddle with him.

My immediate response was, "Not at all.  He will love for you to go out there again and his spirit will be with you."  It was heart warming to hear Cajun Camper say that his son's spirit is with them when they camp.

I got my copy of RV Enthusiast today and was very pleased with what I saw. As others have said though, I certainly hope it concentrates on the smaller/less expensive end of the RV market and much less on the larger/ more expensive ($100,000) end. There are already magazines that cover that end of the market ( Trailer Life and Motorhome come to mind). However, there isn't a magazine devoted to the pup/hybrid/small TT (say under 27 ft.) market. I think this niche could be a money maker from subscribers, though probably not from advertisers. Just my 2 cents.

I also received my copy today.  It looks very nice and I am happy with the content.:)

The new RVE magazine looks very similar to PUT.  I subcribed to PUT a about 18 months ago.  I subscribed because it was a pop-up related magazine.  I already subscribed to a couple of different general RV and camping magazines.  I was not real impressed with PUT--not much content.  I know they needed a change in order to become a successful magazine.

Personally though, I don't need another general RV/Camping magazine.  I also have not been impressed by the defensive attitude of the new editor.  He seems to always respond in a condescending way toward letters from subscribers who disagree with his new direction for the magazine.  He needs to understand that many of us subscribed to PUT to read about pop-up camping, not about RV's in genreal.  I do understand that a PU magazine may not be a profitable endeavor and making money is the goal of any business.  I will not renew my subscription to PUT/RVE because I already subscribe to Camping Life a family oriented general camping magazine.  It is a very nice well done magazine and although it is not PU specific, it does cover the PU/Hybrid type of camping very well.  If another PU magazine comes on the market, I'll try it.

Got mine too! Like what I've seen so far!

Being on the fence about what to get for our next RV, I'm hoping that the new design will give me lts of info to think about!

I read and re-read some of the letters and the responses and have decided that (in my opinion) the responses seem to fit the accusations! If someone accuses you of pandering to one side of the industry or towards one company, then I think you have the right to defend yourself in the same tone.

Anyway, good job Bob & Dave!

Mine came today. Definitely will appeal to a wider audience, BUT, it definitely also has less appeal to someone strickly interested in PU's.

Maybe a name change to Compact RV Enthusiast? As that seems to be the major focus of the ne format.
